Quilceda Creek 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. R38-2 SP25-2 -
Quilceda Creek 2014 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$249.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
The finest vintage ever for this cuvée, the utterly spellbinding 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard is 100% Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new barrels. Slightly deeper and richer than the Columbia Valley Cabernet, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a smorgasbord of graphite, crushed violets, crushed rocks, cassis and dark chocolate. With incredible richness, ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a stacked mid-palate, give this crazy good red 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy over the following two decades! Bravo to the team at Quilceda! SP29-5 -
Quilceda Creek 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon
$199.99Columbia Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The flagship is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon mostly from Champoux with the balance from Palengat and Wallula vineyards. Crème de cassis, graphite, black licorice, unsmoked tobacco, and hints of chocolate and emerge from this beauty and it continues to gain depth and nuance with time in the glass. Full-bodied, deep, and layered with an incredible purity and elegance on the palate, it's already accessible but has more than enough tannin, depth, and balance to evolve for two decades or more. Quilceda Creek 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
$229.99Columbia Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 98+ Rating
Another magical Cabernet Sauvignon from this team, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley comes from a blend of sites and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up mostly in new French oak. This vivid purple-hued beauty offers a kaleidoscope-like array of red and black currants, spice box, lead pencil shavings, crushed stone, and assorted tobacco and leafy herb nuances. These carry to full-bodied Cabernet with incredible purity of fruit, building tannins and structure, flawless balance, and a monster of a finish that won't quit. It should keep for 20-25 years with no issues. SP23-1 BX-6 -
Quilceda Creek 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon
$229.99Columbia Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
The flagship 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (90% from Champoux Vineyard and 10% from Mach One Vineyard) raised all in new barrels. It’s slightly deeper hued than the CVR and has a stunning nose of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, toasted spices, and graphite with a beautiful varietal, herbal undertone that comes through with time in the glass. Quinta do Noval 2000 Vintage Port
$129.99Portugal
Wine Enthusiast 95 Rating
One of the vintage’s standouts, the 2000 Quinta do Noval is incredibly rich and intense, with a density that made me think I should reach for a spoon. Chocolate and coffee, prune and date aromas; plum cake flavors. Despite the richness, there is a superb backbone of acidity and ripe tannins that suggests peak maturity is probably two decades or more away. R32-1 -
Quinta do Noval 2015 Vintage Port
$99.99Douro Portugal
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2015 Vintage Port is the normal blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Sousão, all from the estate, that spent 18 months in barrel. This full-bodied, rich, opulent effort offers textbook plum and raisined fruits with loads of candied black olives, orange rind, and spice. Despite its richness and depth, it’s surprisingly fresh and lively, with integrated acidity, sensational purity of fruit, and a brilliant sense of elegance. It needs a decade of cellaring and will keep for 3-4 more decades. SP60-12 -

This is a winemaker’s master class in blending and understanding of a long-standing site. Dried herb, cedar and pencil shavings accent lifted red fruit and brilliant acidity on the palate, with a supple yet still youthfully grippy texture that is framed by structured, graceful tannins. Enjoy from 2029–2039. R27-1 -
Quintessa 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon
Price range: $269.99 through $1,350.00Napa Valley California
Decanter 96 Rating
Easily one of the most approachable Quintessa wines upon release, this vintage features the suave, plush tannins so characteristic of the estate, wrapped around charming red-fruited and purple floral notes, cedarwood spice, and graphite intensity. These elements frame the aromatics and palate expression, further nuanced by spearmint and mocha through the full-bodied finish. The fruit feels especially juicy and ripe, seemingly more so due to the ease with which the tannins glide across the palate. What a gift for collectors of this wine, which is often more tannic and reticent during even-keeled, picture-perfect growing seasons like 2021, 2016, and 2013. Since tasting it from barrel, the wine has softened significantly, and I now believe it may not age as long as initially anticipated. For the vintage, however, it’s a fantastic wine to enjoy now and regularly over the next 5 to 10 years. Harvested between 9 September and 1 October. A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Carménère, 1% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged 22 months in 60% new French oak and 1% in terracotta amphora.
