A vivid ruby color with a garnet tinge and super-restrained nose of licorice, oak bark, smoke, wood, cigar box, leather, dark chocolate, crushed violets and prunes. Freshness and subtlety. Full-bodied and elegant on the palate due to ripe, filigree tannins with long acidity and a toasty, savory aftertaste. One of the great Amarones. Corvina and Rondinella. Another magical wine, the 2018 Fracture is based on 100% Syrah brought up in new and used French oak. Deep purple-hued, with beautiful notes of crème de cassis, blackberries, vanilla bean, toasted spices, white flowers, and a hints of charcuterie, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, perfectly integrated oak, a rounded, lush mouthfeel, and a great finish. Bouchard owns over two hectares of this climat, and the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Teurons was the first parcel of Pinot Noir harvested in this vintage. Mingling aromas of sweet berries and cassis with hints of peonies, raw cocoa and loamy soil, it’s medium-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with bright acids and a nicely defined finish. This is another of the portfolio’s sleepers.

  • Bouchard Pere & Fils 2020 Meursault Les Clous

Bouchard Pere & Fils 2020 Meursault Les Clous

    $79.99

    Grand Vin De Bourgogne Burgundy
    James Suckling 94 Rating
Intensely nutty aroma from the get go, but with aeration candied-lemon notes develop. Just a hint of vanilla from oak. The serious structure gives it a compact core, with plenty of citrusy fruit wrapped around this. Very impressive length and stony drive at the finish for a village wine. So vibrant you have to go back for more. From a 8.64 hectare, high-altitude plot in Meursault. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. R2-7
