Racy and beautiful, with lots of subtle and refined character. Slightly more cabernet sauvignon this year, which adds class to the wine. 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot and 10% petit verdot. The 2022 Saffredi handled the rigors of the growing season quite well. Strong Cabernet Sauvignon make a strong first impression. Deep and potent, with tons of persistence, the 2022 has so much to offer. Gravel, incense, lavender, mocha and dried herbs are some of the many aromas and flavors that open with a bit of coaxing. The 2022 is a very young wine, one that requires at least a few years in bottle, but it is quite captivating just the same. This blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot performed admirably. Drink: 2028-2042.

The bouquet offers wild cherry, lilac, violet and dusty mineral notes. There is also a touch of yellow sulfur stone that often features in wines from this area of the Tuscan Coast. This is a lean-bodied red with plenty of good tension and energy.
