Il Palagio 2019 Roxanne Toscana Rosso
$17.99 – $186.00Tuscany Italy
Enjoyabilityfactor 92 Rating
This Tuscan red is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Ciliegiolo. To preserve the fruit nuances the wine ages in stainless steel with just 20% of the Sangiovese aged in barrel. It shows deep and ruby red color and intense and fruity notes of ripe red fruits and sweet spices. There's a harmonious structure and well-polished tannins, with a long finish.

The color is a lively amber yellow with mahogany shade. The aromas on the nose are intense and fruity (date, dried fig, beeswax, honey). On the palate, moderately sweet. Long persistence and rich structure. A blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia, and San Colombano.

il Poggione 2015 Brunello di Montalcino
$79.99Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 97 Rating
The Il Poggione 2015 Brunello di Montalcino shows a darker and more concentrated appearance than many of its peers. The wine is beautifully abundant and fragrant in the most exuberant and expressive manner. You will recognize aromas of moist soil, tobacco and smoke. Candied cherry hovers over the entire bouquet. Fruit is sourced from older vines (all over 25 years old). Il Poggione occupies a special spot within the Montalcino appellation, and the area always produces slightly more concentrated and powerful wines. I find that to be particularly true in this gorgeous 2015 vintage. I am also very attracted to that almost dusty note of crushed mineral that rides long on the full-bodied finish. Il Poggione's Brunello is also distinguished by firm, youthful tannin that need a few more years to unwind. Luckily, there are quite a few bottles to go around, with some 200,000 made. R3-2 R43-4 -
Illumination 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
$39.99 – $210.00Napa & Sonoma Counties California
The 2023 vintage of Illumination reveals aromatic purity and incredible depth. Classic notes of grapefruit peel, lemon curd, and white peach are layered with undertones of ginger tea, wild thyme, and clover blossom – the floral character a hallmark of the cool vintage. On the palate, flavors of kumquat and guava mesh with wet slate and elderflower. A lovely textural roundness is balanced by racy acidity and minerality. While vibrant in its youth, this wine’s structure also promised aging potential. A blend of 58% Sauvignon Blanc, 32% Sauvignon Blanc Musqué and 10% Sémillon.

Immortal Estate 2014 Impassible Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
$299.99Sonoma County California
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
All from estate fruit, the 2014 Impassible Mountain is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 27 months in 75% new French oak. It reveals a deeper ruby/purple color as well as a beautiful perfume of blackcurrants, mulled spice, graphite, crushed rock, and earth. Incredibly deep, full-bodied, and opulent, yet always with a sense of purity, minerality, and length, it's a monumental wine that builds on the palate, has ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and an awesome finish. Immortal Estate 2016 Impassible Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
$399.99Sonoma County California
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
A smaller selection and also all Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Impassible Mountain (28 months in 85% new French oak) offers more of everything and is a magical, blockbuster, yet ethereal styled Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma. With a kaleidoscopic array of crème de cassis, sagebrush, tobacco, cedar pencil, and awesome minerality, it has incredible concentration, full-bodied richness, and a skyscraper-like mouthfeel, yet it also stays weightless, elegant, and flawlessly balanced. There are few estates coming close to this level of quality in Sonoma with Cabernet Sauvignon, and if you want to taste pure perfection from Sonoma, try this wine! It’s still a baby, and I suspect it will need 8-10 years to hit maturity, but it's going to evolve for 30-40 years. R16-3 -

Layers of opulent aromatics lift from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Slope with fresh leather, boysenberry liqueur, violets, and fresh tobacco leaf. Full-bodied, with fully ripe tannins, a velvety texture, and a long finish, this is a bold expression with a luxurious polished feel. It has quite a bit of immediate appeal but has the structure to improve and develop over the next 15-20 years. Drink 2024-2044..

Inama 2020 Vigneti di Foscarino Soave Classico

James Suckling 95 Rating
Very ripe, yet discreet and so mineral and punchy, almost like smelling a wet rock. Bone-dry and crisp, yet elegant and textured. Really attractive and subtle with a linear, mineral finish. Delicious now, but will hold, too.

Inglenook 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon
$69.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
The base cuvée is the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec sourced all from Rutherford. It has a classic, Saint Julien-like bouquet of crème de cassis, tobacco lead, damp earth, and spice that gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, textured Cabernet that hits all the right marks. The top Rubicon release has a touch more elegant and precision, but this isn't far off. Drink this stunner any time over the coming 20 years or more. SPCAB1-12
