  • Sine Qua Non 2018 Grenache Profuga

Sine Qua Non 2018 Grenache Profuga

    $399.99

    Central Coast California
    Jeb Dunnuck 98-100 Rating
Scheduled to be bottled in August, the 2018 Grenache Profuga is based on 77.5% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 8.3% Syrah, and the rest Petite Sirah and a tiny splash of Viognier. Mostly destemmed (there was 41% stems from the Grenache) and aging in just 37% new French oak, this heavenly beauty has a rare mix of elegance and richness that just begs to be drunk already. Loads of kirsch liqueur, spiced meats, charcuterie, herbes de Provence, and peppery notes define the bouquet, and this full-bodied Grenache is flawlessly balanced, has silky, polished tannins, and a monster of a finish. It’s going to shine right out of the gate and is a good counterpoint to the more focused, cooler styled 2021s. R38-4

  • Sinegal Estate 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

    Sinegal Estate 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

    Price range: $69.99 through $660.00

    Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes mostly from estate fruit and checks in as 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% each of Malbec and Petit Verdot, and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. There are around 10,000 cases, so you should be able to find bottles, and I suspect it’s going to be a great value. Giving up lots of jammy blackberries, tobacco, sweet oak, and subtle cassis, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a round, delicious style, and the balance and structure to evolve for 10-15 years.

  • Sojourn 2022 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard

Sojourn 2022 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard

    Price range: $59.99 through $300.00

    Sonoma Coast California
A warm 2022 summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record in the Sonoma Coast, with a September heat wave influencing some picking decisions. Cooler pockets of the Sonoma Coast fared well through the heat and the resulting wines offer depth and finesse. Yields were miniscule, with many vineyards breaking records on the low side for cluster weights. The resulting wines have concentrated flavors with tension and length. Pommard clone again dominates the final 2022 blend with earthy tones overlaying layers of red fruit flavors. A portion of each block was co-fermented whole cluster in 2022. Rodgers Creek Vineyard benefitted from the September heat wave, while the fog and wind tempered the microclimate. This vintage offers a broader palate and bold structure.
