PlumpJack Winery 2021 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
$179.99 – $1,872.00Oakville Napa Valley California
Vinous 95 Rating
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is rich, racy and super-expressive. Silky and deep, with notable resonance, the 2021 offers up dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol, new leather and licorice. Today, it is a very young wine in need of cellaring, but its
potential is evident. Dollops of Petit Verdot and Malbec round out the blend. This should be positively stellar

Podere Castorani 2017 Montepulciano D’Abruzzo Riserva

James Suckling 92 Rating
Lots of ripe black fruit with a smoky edge. Dried violets, too. Full-bodied with lots of charred oak to the fruit, but there’s enough blackberry there to give a long, savory fruit finish. No real complexity to the wine, but it’s well constructed. The riserva oak makes it feel bigger than it actually is. Drinkable now, but will hold for a few years, too.

Fresh, clean, citrus, mineral and Granny Smith apple aromas with toasted bread notes: a quintessential Cava. This sparkler is a good match with light tapas, oysters and seafood.

The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino shows a pretty, mid-weight appearance with shiny dark ruby highlights. The wine offers soft fruit with cherry and wild forest berry at the front. On a second wave, it delivers light spice, earthy mineral and cured tobacco. Both the fruity and the savory sides of the wine are well balanced over solid tannic support and balanced freshness.

A bright red color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is floral and aromatic of preserved strawberries, baby powder, and herbes de Provence. Medium-bodied, it has refined ripe tannins, even acidity, and a clean, stony textured finish. A lovely and charming wine, it’s drinking well now and will drink well over the coming 8-10 years. Poggio Antico 2020 Tocana Lemartine
$44.99 – $210.00Tuscany Italy
Wine Spectator 94 Rating
Rich, boasting cherry, raspberry, wild rosemary, mineral and spice flavors, this red is also smooth and succulent. Firm tannins grip the finish, yet this finds a nice equilibrium as it winds down on the long aftertaste. Sangiovese. Best from 2026 through 2042. Only 439 cases made and only 250 cases imported.

Poggio Antico 2021 Madre Toscana
$49.99 – $240.00Tuscany Italy
The nose is delicious if more focused on Tuscan red cherries, strawberries and elderberries with a hint of sweet plums. The palate is fresh but with a good core of density. Some pretty tannins and a fruit-forward finish. Madre can already be enjoyed, but may also be aged for a long time, further improving its characteristics.
