Yalumba 2016 The Virgilius Viognier
$39.99–$210.00Eden Valley Australia
The Virgilius is Yalumba’s most distinguished Viognier – a wine that shows power with restraint. As Yalumba’s most premium and enchanting white wine, it is loved by wine lovers looking for something beyond the more conventional offering. The nose has intense aromas of early season just picked apricots, cardamom, white pepper and fresh ginger. Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with mineral sourdough like texture and complex apricots and almond savouriness. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate is clearly evident in this wine. It is complex while at the same time showing purity and restraint that will unwind slowly in the glass and take the imbiber on a sensory journey. At its best with food, The Virgilius complements a wide range of flavors, particularly dishes with spice and rich flavors. Try with poached pike perch; grilled sirloin and chips; beef rendang; pan fried herb stuffed mushrooms; or fresh gnocchi with olive oil and shaved truffles. The Virgilius, while showing all the virtues of great Viognier as a young wine, will reward cellaring as it evolves in the bottle, with even more layers of flavor and aroma. R32-2

Yalumba Samuel’s Collection 2017 Shiraz

This is a well-balanced and drinkable yet food friendly example of Barossa's most famous wine style. It oozes ripe plums, licorice, dried green herbs, dried florals, warm earth and graphite nuances with a lick of spicy oak. The tannins are fine and chalky textured, and a line of acidity lifts the plump fruit, herbs and spice into brightness.

Yalumba Tawny Port 375ML half-bottle
$19.99–$216.00Barossa Valley South Australia
Vinousmedia 93 Rating
Dark amber. Nutty, tangy and fresh on the nose, with exotic aromas of candied orange, toffee, cherry pit and raspberry. Wild, exotic and compelling; a riot of sweet, nutty fruit flavors in conjunction with a viscous texture. The finish is enlivened by refreshing acids. This is really suave.

Yalumba Y Series 2021 Viognier
$12.99–$132.00South Australia
Wine Enthusiast 91 Rating
Despite being Yalumba’s entry-level Viognier, this is one of its most delicious white offerings. Highly aromatic, it wafts a perfume of honeysuckle, orchard blossom and fuzzy peach skin. The palate is more viscous than the nose implies, but there’s enough acidity to keep it fresh. Peach and lemon flavors linger on the finish. Drink with Thai curry or a similarly bold Southeast Asian dish.

Yangarra 2013 Estate Vineyard Grenache High Sands

Wine Advocate 97+ Rating

The 2013 Grenache High Sands has a medium/deep ruby-purple color and simply stunning nose of crushed raspberries, Bing cherries and potpourri with hints of lavender, star anise, vanilla, cinnamon stick and pepper. The concentrated, full-bodied palate juxtaposes remarkable freshness and a firm, finely grained backbone with voluptuous fruit spanning extraordinary depth. Heady, multilayered and yet with a solid backbone that suggests great ageing potential, Yangarra hits a whole other level with this vintage of High Sands! It's delicious now, but should greatly reward another 3-5 years of patience and drink a further 20+ years. Wow. R21-2 -
