  • Domaine Daniel Pollier 2022 Pouilly Fuisse Vieilles Vignes

    $29.99$324.00

    Burgundy France
The Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes by Domaine Daniel Pollier is matured in barriques, a quarter of the barrels are new, the rest is in second or third use. This wine is especially concentrated, it shows scents like hazelnuts, floral notes, white and yellow fruits, and a lovely oak influence that supports the fruit, but does not dominate it. An alternative to the rather expensive white wines of the Côte d'Or.

Pink peach color with brilliant reflections, we discover notes of citrus and grapefruit at first nose. The aromas evolve towards lemony notes and fresh apricots. Its mouth has an elegant lively and gourmet attack, it is accompanied by notes of citrus and fresh apricots. Its finish is mineral and saline. An ideal wine for an aperitif. 60% Cinsault, 30% Grenache Noir, 8% Syrah, 2% Rolle.

  • Domaine de Chevalier 2010 Bordeaux Blend

    $119.99

    Pessac Leognan Bordeaux
    Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2010 Domaine de Chevalier is still a baby, yet with air, offers tons of pleasure. Black currants, truffle, scorched earth, and licorice aromas and flavors all give way to a big, concentrated, unctuous beauty that has ample sweetness to its tannin, a stacked mid-palate, and a blockbuster finish. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot, it needs an hour in a decanter if drinking anytime soon, and certainly has another two decades of longevity in front of it. It’s a sensational bottle of wine. R12-2

  • Domaine De Chevalier 2016 Red Blend Pessac-Leognan

    $129.99$600.00

As to the reds, the 2016 Domaine de Chevalier is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc that saw an extended maceration, malo in barrel, and 18 months in just 35% new French oak. This deep purple-hued beauty boasts a powerful bouquet of tobacco smoke, damp earth, gravelly, rocky minerality, wood smoke, and loads of dark fruits. Full-bodied, deep, concentrated yet incredibly elegant and seamless on the palate, it’s a legendary Chevalier in the making. While I rated this as high as 99 points on one of the four separate occasions I was able to taste it, I’m being conservative with the score. it has some upfront charm but needs 4-5 years of cellaring and will keep for 3-4 decades.

This is an extremely polished and refined young wine with gorgeous blackberry, blackcurrant, licorice, dark-chocolate and bark character. It’s full-bodied with ever so fine tannins and a long, long finish. Fantastic second wine of Domaine de Chevalier. Try after 2026.

  • Domaine de Ferrand 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape

    $69.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France
    Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape checks in as 90% Grenache and the rest 3% each of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Bourboulenc, with a splash of Cinsault, brought up all in tank. It has a deep, layered, powerful yet elegant style as well as notes of black raspberries, crushed violets, blueberries, ground pepper, and earth. With a rounded, sexy texture, no hard edges, fine tannins, and a beautiful finish, it's a fabulous wine in the vintage. SP25-11

  • Domaine de Ferrand 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape

    $64.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France

Beautiful violets, wildflowers, Asian spices, lavender, and Bing cherry fruits all soar from the glass of the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape. This full-bodied, beautifully textured, seamless 2019 brings the richness of the vintage while staying light on its feet, elegant, and perfectly balanced. While the acidity is quite low (I’m sure the pH is quite high), this will age on its balance and concentration. Hats off to Philippe Bravey for another singular Châteauneuf du Pape that readers will love to have in their cellars. As usual, the blend is 85% Grenache, with the balance other permitted varieties, brought up completely in tank. It can be drunk any time over the coming 15 years or more. SP38-10 SPBX-24

  • Domaine de Fontsainte 2016 Corbieres Rouge

    $17.99$180.00

    Languedoc-Roussillon France
A sustained and very brilliant ruby color with beautiful violet tints. Immediate and generous with, at first, notes of fresh red fruits, such as cherries and black fruits, such as blueberries. Next, the richness develops with notes of cacao powder and a delicate touch of liquorice. Round and concentrated attack with a balanced structure in the mouth, the tannins are delicate and the acidity luscious. Everything showcases the fruit, which follows up with a long finish.
