  • Clos du Val 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

    $49.99$270.00

    California
    Wine Enthusiast 94 Rating
Seductive oak spices and a plush mouthfeel come with abundant red and black fruits in this full-bodied, appropriately tannic wine that needs time to reach its full potential. Pine and rosemary accents merge nicely with the blackberries and blueberries.

  • Clos i Terrasses 2016 Clos Erasmus

Not far off the magical 2013, the 2016 Clos Erasmus shows the purity and freshness of the vintage yet backs it up with rock star depth of fruit and richness. A huge nose of blueberries, crème de cassis, blood orange, and violets give way to a full-bodied Priorat that has flawless balance and purity, a stacked mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a finish that goes on for over a minute. This is pure, elegant, yet powerful Priorat at its finest. The 2016 is a blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah that spent 18 months in 40% new oak. Give bottles 2-3 years, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following 15-20 years. R4-1

  • Clos i Terrasses Clos Erasmus 2017 Laurel

    $59.99

    Priorat, Spain

The 2017 Laurel is a blend of the younger vines, some barrels that were declassified from Clos Erasmus and the remaining Cabernet Sauvignon, and in the low-yielding and dry 2017 vintage, it's 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 15% alcohol. The wine fermented mostly in concrete and oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a combination of oak vats, concrete, used barriques and amphorae for 16 months. They produce this to be approachable from the moment it's released. The 2017s feel very aromatic, open, expressive and young, quite primary, tender and juicy and surprisingly fresh for a dry, warm year that resulted in a very early harvest. There is a peachy, soft, approachable quality here that I like very much. Surprisingly enough, winemaker and proprietor Daphne Glorian sees reminiscences of the 2013s in the 2017s, and I have to agree. SP35-8

  • Col d’Orcia 2016 Poggio al Vento Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

    $159.99

    Tuscany Italy

Super classic Brunello from a classic vintage, being released now. The perfume to this is really something, with cherries, flowers, lead pencil and light hints of graphite. Then it moves to raspberries and black cherries with some sandalwood shavings. You just want to smell it. Clear and transparent. Full-bodied with very fine and succinct tannins that fill the mouth and show super tension and form. Extremely long and structured. Beautiful now, but this will age for decades ahead. Drink or hold.

  • Col d’Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino

    $49.99$252.00

    Tuscany Italy

The certified organic Col d’Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe fruit, blackberry, earthy notes, licorice and, generally speaking, a much bigger and riper fruit profile compared to its peers. It offers full-bodied Brunello opulence to enjoy over the near or medium term, and the wine delivers dried fruit flavors of prune and fig to close. The tannins are velvety and add to the richness of the rather upfront and immediate mouthfeel.

  • Collefrisio 2022 Appassimento

    $26.99$264.00

    Abruzzi Italy
The successful winemakers of Collefrisio in Abruzzo also offer a beautiful appassimento. The 60% montepulciano and 20% merlot grapes dry on the vine and are only harvested in the second half of October. The ‘normally’ harvested sangiovese adds freshness to the wine and creates a nice balance with the concentrated, dried grapes. Collefrisio’s winemaker Amedeo de Luca dispenses with oak ripening and prefers the concentrated fruit aromas that characterize the appassimento method. The result is a dark-colored red wine that smells beautifully of ripe blackberries and cherries. It also has a great taste thickness with a lot of flexibility.

  • Colleleva 2022 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi

    $13.99$144.00

    Marche Italy
Here is a wine that is screaming value. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi are wines that are perfect for a leisurely glass of wine. The juice comes from 30 years old vines which are established in sandy tufo soils of La Marche, giving the wine more depth than most in its price class. The use of only stainless steel keeps the wine fresh and pure. Very expressive fruit that is juicy and crisp due to a small amount of CO2 left in the bottle.
