  • Terlato Family Vineyards 2023 Pinot Grigio

    $18.99$96.00

    Colli Orientali del Friuli Italy
    Vinous 90 Rating
The 2023 Pinot Grigio is a total pleasure on the nose, blending crushed almonds with white flowers, wet stone and freshly sliced nectarines. It’s soft and round with a stimulating core of acidity to balance. A sour lime tinge nicely offsets ripe orchard fruits. The 2023 leaves a mineral note lingering, finishing crisp, refreshing and with medium length. regular $24.99

  • Alban Vineyards 2019 Syrah Reva Alban Estate

    $109.99

    Edna Valley California

Moving to the Syrahs, the 2019 Syrah Reva reveals a much cooler climate-like style in its blackberry, graphite, pepper, and bouquet garni-like nuances, and it picks up an almost Cornas-like game and white pepper character with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe yet polished tannins, and a great finish. It reminds me slightly of the 2018, although with slightly less concentration. It will evolve for 20-25 years. SP14-5

Plump and polished, with sleekly layered black raspberry flavors that are accented by dark chocolate, savory meat and cracked pepper tones that sail on the long and savory finish. Drink now through 2033. SP17-1

  • Alban Vineyards 2019 Syrah Lorraine Alban Estate Vineyard

    $199.99

    Edna Valley California

The 2019 Syrah Lorraine is ultra-classic and is about as textbook an example of this cuvée as I can recall. Black raspberries, cassis, spring flowers, and baking spices all flow to a full-bodied, round, velvety textured, utterly seamless Syrah with ripe tannins, a great mid-palate, and a gorgeous finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s impossible to resist today (and I see no need to delay gratification), yet it will continue to deliver the goods any time over the coming 20-25 years. SP15-6

  • Ridge Vineyards 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Monte Bello Vineyard

    $69.99

    Santa Cruz Mountains California
    Decanter Magazine 96 Rating
True to the vineyard’s mountain site, up to 814m (2,670ft} in altitude, exposed to the cold Pacific, the wine has vivid cassis purity and a touch of green sage. 16 months in 58% new American oak may have rounded the edges of the wine, but none of that oak shows up in the wine’s flavor—exquisite structure and balance. Ridge’s Estate Cabernets come from old blocks in the Monte Bello Vineyard, but blocks that Paul Draper and John Olney feel tend to produce a wine that’s more accessible young than the blocks used for Ridge’s top wine, Monte Bello. Be that as it may, the Estate Cabernet blend comprised of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 1% Petite Verdot drinks like a sophisticated ageworthy wine. R11-2

  • Marques de Murrieta 2020 Rioja Reserva

    $27.99$132.00

    Rioja Spain
    Wine Advocate 94 Rating
The 2020 Rioja Reserva, their flagship wine, comes from the 300 hectares of estate vineyards. Here, Tempranillo is the backbone, making up 82% of the blend in the low-yielding vintage of 2019, complemented with 8% Graciano, 7% Mazuelo and 3% Garnacha. It has controlled ripeness at 14% alcohol, with a pH of 3.65 and 5.1 grams of acidity. I loved the aromatics here—floral and elegant, more in the style of the 2018 than the 2019. it’s lighter, more elegant, fine-boned and has a silky texture and very fine tannins. Both 2019 and 2020 are very good, but 2020 is more my style.
