Bodegas y Vinedos Ilurce 2019 Rio Mazos
Price range: $32.99 through $162.00Rioja Spain
Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
Bright violet-red in the glass, this wine has a nose of cherry and raspberry, with a touch of orange blossom. A soft floral note shows on the palate as well, along with sleek tannins and flavors of black cherry, cassis, milk chocolate, clove and violet that linger into a floral-scented finish.

Clos i Terrasses Clos Erasmus 2017 Laurel
$59.99Priorat, Spain
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
The 2017 Laurel is a blend of the younger vines, some barrels that were declassified from Clos Erasmus and the remaining Cabernet Sauvignon, and in the low-yielding and dry 2017 vintage, it's 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 15% alcohol. The wine fermented mostly in concrete and oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a combination of oak vats, concrete, used barriques and amphorae for 16 months. They produce this to be approachable from the moment it's released. The 2017s feel very aromatic, open, expressive and young, quite primary, tender and juicy and surprisingly fresh for a dry, warm year that resulted in a very early harvest. There is a peachy, soft, approachable quality here that I like very much. Surprisingly enough, winemaker and proprietor Daphne Glorian sees reminiscences of the 2013s in the 2017s, and I have to agree. SP35-6 -

Clos Mogador 2022 Priorat
Price range: $119.99 through $600.00Spain
Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Their single-vineyard 2022 Clos Mogador, they flagship wine, was produced with a blend of grapes, mostly Garnacha and Cariñena but also some Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon (less and less, as they are regrafting most of them). It has a very Mediterranean nose with plenty of dry hay and straw notes, the classical wet slate notes, very Priorat too, and it has a round palate and very fine, chalky tannins. It’s serious and harmonious and feels relaxed, without any excess.

This garnet-colored wine offers aromas of dried cranberry, freshly picked red cherry and dried Mediterranean herbs. It is soft on entry, with pronounced flavors of red and black plums, brown baking spices and dark chocolate. It is medium-bodied with soft tannins, and there is a touch of dried savory herbs in the persistent finish.

Condado De Haza 2022 Tempranillo
Price range: $24.99 through $228.00Ribera del Duero Spain
Clean and brilliant with an attractive black cherry color and purple undertones. Quite intense aromatics revealing ripe red berry and black fruits. Licorice notes, typical of the Tempranillo variety, also come through. Sweet, roasted coffee bean aromas follow with hints of vanilla and touches of spice. A fleshy, silky entry on the palate with perfectly integrated acidity and very pleasant, gentle tannins. Black fruit flavors in the finish with blackberry in particular. The oak is very nicely integrated, expressing notes of toast and vanilla, characteristic of a wine aged in American oak barrels. A medium to long finish.

Cuentavinas 2021 Tinto Fino

Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
Coming from the Ribera del Duero, the 2021 Tinto Fino is a different beast with its juicy red and blue fruits as well as spring flowers, violets, leather, and peppery nuances. It’s plush, round, supple, and straight-up sexy on palate, with a touch more flesh and opulence.
