Chateau d’Armailhac 2018 Grand Cru Classe Pauillac

James Suckling 95 Rating
Complex aromas of blackcurrant, black olive, clove, oyster shell, pencil lead and tobacco. It’s full-bodied with firm, tightly knit tannins. Concentrated and focused with a very long, spice and mineral finish. Fantastic bottle. Try from 2026. SP53-4 -

Chateau Clinet 2018 Pomerol
$149.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
Including slightly more Cabernet Sauvignon than usual, the 2018 Château Clinet is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in 75% new French oak. One of the superstars of the vintage, it has incredible elegance and finesse as well as gorgeous richness and depth. Notes of cassis and truffly dark fruits as well as tobacco, damp earth, chocolate, and lead pencil shavings emerge from the glass, and it's full-bodied, with a seamless, multi-dimensional texture, gorgeous tannins, and a great, great finish. It already offers incredible pleasure, but it won't hit maturity for another 5-7 years and should evolve for 30 years or more. This magical wine is in the same league as the 2015 and 2016 and drinking these beauties over the coming decades will be an incredible treat. R44-1 SP58-6 -

Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Grand Vin Saint-Julien
$149.99Bordeaux
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
The flagship 2018 Château Beychevelle is a more serious, concentrated, focused wine that still has that classic Saint-Julien purity of fruit as well as a wealth of fruit. Gorgeous notes of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered blueberries, violets, spring flowers, tobacco leaf, and cedar notes all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with sweet tannins, moderate acidity, and a great, great finish. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it's one of the sexiest, most up-front and irresistible wines in the vintage. Don't let that scare you, though; it's going to drink beautifully for 2-3 decades. SP55-4 -

Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle
Price range: $49.99 through $270.00Saint-Julien Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It's classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that's ideal for enjoying over the coming 10-15 years. Chateau Batailley 2010 Grand Cru Pauillac
$169.99Bordeaux France
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. A strong performance from Batailley under blind conditions, easily surpassing its showing at the UGC in London last year. The 2010 has a very elegant bouquet with blackberry, cedar and leather, well defined and very nicely focused, though not the most vigorous amongst its peers. The palate is very well balanced with filigree tannins, perfectly judged acidity and a very appealing “classic” style of Pauillac very the top drawer. What a superb Pauillac – a benchmark Batailley. Ceretto 2022 Barbaresco
Price range: $64.99 through $660.00Piedmont Italy
Vinous 91 Rating
The 2022 Barbaresco is pliant and expressive, with lovely depth and fine balance. Bright red-toned fruit, orange peel, mint, cinnamon and rose petal are nicely delineated in this attractive mid-weight offering. The 2022 is a stylish entry-level Barbaresco that in this vintage benefits from heat that allowed some of the estate’s less well-exposed parcels to ripen well.

Casanova di Neri 2016 Brunello di Montalcino
$79.99Tuscany Italy
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino has compelling aromatics of cherry liqueur, sweet licorice, cedar, and forested earth. The palate is crystalline and full-bodied, with red plum skin and warming spice. There is a lot to love here, as this wine casts a large net for its versatility. Enjoy some now and lay some down, this is a great value. Drink 2021-2026. SP42-11 -

‘Caprice’ means whim in French and could describe the feelings of a passionate winemaker as she guides her vines through the challenges and often heartaches of each vintage. A selection of the estate’s oldest vines, this pure Syrah wine is raised in older French oak barrels for one year. Licorice, cocoa, candied violets; black fruits and pepper.
