Wine Enthusiast 91 Rating
This Langhe Arneis is like a summer fling in a glass – flirty, fun, and impossible to resist. Aromas of crisp green apples and zesty citrus practically beg for attention, while the palate is a lively mix of juicy pear and a hint of almond. It’s the perfect poolside companion or that perfect fresh wine for a good movie and the couch.

Cervantes 2016 MMXVI Cabernet Sauvignon
$128.99Napa Valley California
Wine Advocate 96+ Rating
A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 MMXVI Cabernet Sauvignon gives up gregarious notions of warm red and black currants, black raspberries and warm plums with hints of chocolate mint, pencil shavings and tilled loam plus a waft of lilacs. Full-bodied and grainy, the palate is built like a brick house with super ripe tannins and bags of bold, expressive, multifaceted fruit, finishing very long and mineral-laced. 545 cases were made. Cesari 2020 Amarone della Valpolicella
Price range: $45.99 through $246.00Veneto Italy
Wine Advocate 92 Rating
In the bottle with the dark frosted glass, the 2020 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a rich and voluptuous wine with layers of dark fruit, baked plum and sweet barbecue spice. This air-dried blend of 55% Corvina Veronese, 25% Corvinone and 20% Rondinella maintains a classic Amarone profile with moderate complexity and a more approachable 15% alcohol content (which remains on the low end of this high-octane category of reds). There is a flurry of bitter and sweet spice on the close. Cesari counts over 100 hectares of hillside vineyards with different soil profiles ranging from 150 to 500 meters in elevation. This affords the winemaking team plenty of excellent sites to choose from.

Chalk Hill Winery 2024 Chardonnay Russian River Valley
Price range: $19.99 through $180.00California
One wine that will never be rated, nor see a top 100 list is the Chalk Hill RRV Chardonnay. That’s not a bad thing – it’s just the winery’s ‘secret Chardonnay.’ It’s never released to the general public or retail, only a few hundred cases are made each year to service the restaurant industry. But luckily for us, I’ve got a restaurant. And while the Sonoma Coast bottling is definitely the ‘calling card’ that you’re used to seeing from this great estate, I’m telling you the Russian River Valley Chardonnay blows that one out of the water. It’s a Nicholas wines all-time favorite.
