Dark ruby color. Intense nose of plums and blackberries, with notes of vanilla, liquorice, white pepper and chocolate. Full palate with ripe and mellow tannins. Persistent finish.
For more than 80 years, the Barbanera family has been dedicated to the production of high-quality wines. In 2018, the Barbanera family vinified Gigino 80 Anniversario Toscana on the occasion of its jubilee. Gigino was the nickname of Luigi Barbanera, son of the founders of the winery. The grapes are harvested by hand during the cool morning hours and fermented slowly at cool temperatures, then macerated to extract the maximum natural color and aromas from the grapes.
