Moving to their Châteauneuf du Papes and a blend of 40% Roussanne and the rest Grenache Blanc and Clairette, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc now has the Roussanne brought up in demi-muid as opposed to the barriques, with the goal of better-integrated oak. Orchard fruits, lemon, honeysuckle, and hints of buttered citrus all emerge from this gorgeous, elegant, seamless white that has both richness and elegance. With integrated acidity, impeccable balance and a great finish, it offers pleasure today, yet will keep for decades. WBC
