The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen is based on 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot aged 18-22 months in new barrels. Wild strawberries, blueberries, dark chocolate, graphite, and lead pencil notes all emerge on the nose, and it’s another full-bodied, concentrated, powerful wine from this label that has the vintage s fresher, elegant under-riding style. Give it a few years and it’s going to drink brilliantly over the following 15-20 years.

Hailing from the Sage Ridge Vineyard adjacent to Pritchard Hill, the 2021 Janeen shows its mountain fruit-like qualities. Fabulous weight and concentration yet the tannins are incredibly polished. Every step of the winemaking process with this wine is geared towards capturing the seductive, textures and taming the mountain tannin. In 2021 we have succeeded. Vibrant cassis, and blueberry notes soar from the glass, giving way to a fabulous mineral driven finish. This wine has considerable weight but is incredibly light on her toes.
