    Amazingly rich and honeyed with hints of figs, prunes, caramel, and toffee, it is a gorgeous, brilliantly made fortified wine composed of Shiraz and Mourvedre. This brilliant fortified is remarkably light on its feet given its massive richness. Thank good winemaking, great natural extract, and zesty acidity for keeping this wine fresh in spite of its huge residual sweetness and power.

    Looking at the Cabernet releases, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is deep purple-hued and has a classic nose of ripe currants, tobacco, lead pencil, and chocolate. This rich, fleshy, full-bodied 2021 has solid mid-palate depth, the structure and density that's the hallmark of the vintage, and a great finish. It's a beauty.

With lots of chocolately richness, medium to full body, and beautifully ripe tannins, it's layered and has impressive depth of fruit, followed by a great finish. It's going to evolve for 15-20 years. It's an incredible value in classic, impeccably made Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. SP13-2

    I loved these wines from barrel last year, and they didn't disappoint from bottle. Starting with the Santa Lucia Highlands release, the 2019 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard has a deep, nuanced yet powerful style that offers impressive black raspberry and red currant fruits to go with lots of spice, loamy soil, spring flower, and earthy forest floor notes. Gorgeously textured on the palate, this medium to full-bodied Pinot has ripe, polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and the fruit and opulence to drink nicely today yet also evolve for a good 7-8 years, if you're so inclined.     From the oldest vines planted in the 1970s, the 2015 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard is a perfumed, spicy wine that's just singing on the nose. Ripe cherries, raspberries, candied orange, and exotic spices give way to a medium to full-bodied, supple, seamless Pinot Noir. It has bright acidity, sweet, vibrant, fruit, notable tannin, and a great finish. Like a lot of the wines here, it has the fruit to shine, but this is certainly one of the more structured and tannic wines in the lineup. SP7-4
