  • Aia Vecchia Sor Ugo 2016 Bordeaux Red Blend

    $49.99

    Tuscany Italy
    Wine Advocate 93 Rating
The 2016 Bolgheri Superiore Sor Ugo offers thickly extracted aromas of blackberry preserves and cherry confit with smoke, tar and sweet spice. This is a full-bodied red (with 15% alcohol) that wraps thickly over the palate, showing rich density and concentration along the way. Campfire ash and hickory smoke appear on the close. The blend is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot aged in barrique for 18 months. SP44-1

  • Alban Vineyards 2019 Syrah Lorraine Alban Estate Vineyard

    $199.99

    Edna Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The 2019 Syrah Lorraine is ultra-classic and is about as textbook an example of this cuvée as I can recall. Black raspberries, cassis, spring flowers, and baking spices all flow to a full-bodied, round, velvety textured, utterly seamless Syrah with ripe tannins, a great mid-palate, and a gorgeous finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s impossible to resist today (and I see no need to delay gratification), yet it will continue to deliver the goods any time over the coming 20-25 years. SP15-6

  • Alban Vineyards 2019 Syrah Reva Alban Estate

    $109.99

    Edna Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
Moving to the Syrahs, the 2019 Syrah Reva reveals a much cooler climate-like style in its blackberry, graphite, pepper, and bouquet garni-like nuances, and it picks up an almost Cornas-like game and white pepper character with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe yet polished tannins, and a great finish. It reminds me slightly of the 2018, although with slightly less concentration. It will evolve for 20-25 years. SP14-5

All from the estate and brought up in a mix of tank, oak, and terra-cotta, the 2023 Viognier Central Coast has a lively, perfumed nose of ripe stone fruits, brioche, apricot, and savory flower notes with a textured style. This incredible Value in the world of Brut Champagne. Very fresh with citrus, pear and floral notes. It segways nicely into a delicious toasty and yeasty character that I like. This is truely a bargain to have around to enjoy now and over the upcoming holidays throughout the year.
