Dominio de Pingus 2022 “Psi”
Price range: $39.99 through $216.00Ribera del Duero Spain
Vinous 93 Rating
The 2022 PSI hails from the Sorian side of Ribera del Duero. Ripe plum, cherry and herbal aromas mingle with a balsamic touch, soft cedar and a hint of prune. The palate is juicy and creamy in texture, defined by firm, fine-grained tannins and moderate structure. Concentration comes from the old vines, while lively acidity balances the fine tannins. A solid example of Ribera Soriana.

Dominus Estate 2012 Red
$269.99Napa Valley California
Antonio Galloni 100 Rating
Extremely Limited Offering
The 2012 Dominus is a wild, exotic wine. Harvest began on October 9 and finished on the 21st, very late by present-day standards. Ripe red cherry, kirsch, cinnamon, rose petal, incense and rose petal soar out of the glass. Deep and vibrant, with terrific freshness, Dominus is very clearly one of the wines of the year. I loved the 2012 from barrel, but found it quite closed after bottling. Now, after all these years, I finally see the realization of the potential suggested in my barrel tastings. Magnificent. Dominus Estate 2016 Red
$299.99Napa Valley California
Wine Advocate 100 Rating
A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc aged in 40% new oak, the 2016 Proprietary Red Wine is deep purple-black in color and quite reticent at this youthful stage to begin, offering up subtle notions of potpourri, Indian spices, cigar box and iron ore over a core of crushed blackberries and black cherries with intermittent wafts of black and red currants, new leather and smoked meats. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a densely packed mid-palate and oodles of freshness framed by very ripe, finely grained tannins and laced with compelling earthy accents. It offers incredible vibrancy with tons of black and red fruit sparkle in the mid-palate leading to a provocative mineral element on the very long finish. If I could give more than 100 for this one, I would. R42-2 SP11-1 -
Dominus Estate 2018 Red
$299.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
One of the legendary Dominus, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is unquestionably in the same league as the 2018, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2010, and 1991, and to my mind, wine simply doesn’t get any better. Sporting a dense purple hue as well as an incredible perfume of blackcurrants, crushed stone, cedar pencil, smoke tobacco, and baking spices, it s rich, full-bodied, and voluptuously textured, with ripe yet building tannins. It reminds me slightly of the 2010 (maybe the 2013), and I suspect it will have a similar evolution. Hide bottles for 7-8 years, and it will evolve gracefully for 30+ years. Hats off to the team of Christian Moueix and director Tod Mostero. SP11-1 -
Dominus Estate 2019 Red
$299.99Napa Valley California
James Suckling 98 Rating
Lots of crushed stone, lead pencil and licorice aromas that are extremely aromatic and bright. Black cherries, cloves and purple fruit, too. Full body and a round and ripe center-palate with a juicy interior. It opens at the end with a savory and juicy finish. Layered and beautiful. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years. Don Melchor 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto
Price range: $149.99 through $750.00Maipo Valley Central Chile
Wine Spectator 96 Rating
Wine Spectator Wine of the Year, 2024. A remarkable effort that channels the finesse of the vintage with rich, muscular edges, offering a base of graphite and cassis notes that gather around elegant layers of dried rosemary and white pepper. The richly textured core of raspberry and plum flavors show precision and just enough acidity to keep things sailing onto the finish around well-integrated tannins and touches of cocoa. Best from 2026 through 2040.

Donnachadh 2021 Pinot Noir
$39.99Santa Rita Hills California
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
The 2021 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills, matured for 10 months in neutral oak, is the first appellation-wide Pinot from Donnachadh. Like the Chardonnay, this vintage was sourced entirely from the Donnachadh estate, although that may not be the case in the future. It has a pale ruby color and very pure, fragrant scents of cranberry, raspberry, strawberry, bergamot, tea leaves and herbs. The medium-bodied palate is finely chalky and wonderfully fresh, boasting concentrated red berry flavors, fine citrusy accents and a long, ethereal finish. This really stands out for its detail and expression—it’s as if the volume was turned up yet the definition preserved. R11-4 -
