A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It's classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that's ideal for enjoying over the coming 10-15 years. The 2018 Frederick is based on 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 23% Merlot, and 16% Syrah , all from the Walla Walla Valley, that spent 19 months in 40% new French oak. It has a great nose of ripe red and black fruits as well as notes of chocolate, dried herbs, and loamy soils, with subtle background oak. Medium to full-bodied, it has firm tannins, a solid core of sweet fruit, and a great finish. It’s going to benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and drink brilliantly over the following decade. R16-6

A pale gold hue, limpid, which sublimates a delicate bubble. At the first nose, a few brioche notes, slightly toasted as well as aromas of ripe yellow fruits such as mirabelle plums. When aired, elegant raspberry aromas unfold. As the wine evolves, it reveals slight hints of cedar wood. Beautiful structure and freshness; minerality and saltiness in the mouth. Slight notes of grapefruit zest are delicately expressed on a long and persistent finish.
