B Cellars 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Ehrlich Vineyard
$149.99Napa Valley California
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Ehrlich Vineyard is from another spot in Oakville. The production of this wine is 750 cases of unfined and unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon. B Cellars is starting to get my attention and is one of the more exciting and newer producers in Napa Valley, and although they’ve been at it for a while, I have never tasted wines of this quality from them. This is spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon that offers up cedar wood, blackcurrants, blueberry, incense and graphite. It is full-bodied, powerful and rich, but with sweet tannin and the 2014 hallmark of suppleness and charm. Quite deep, opulent and stunningly rich, drink it over the next 20 years. R39-1 -
B Wise 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Trios
$39.99Napa Valley California
When it comes to Brion Wise’s brilliant collection of American wines, the new Napa Valley Trios cuvee of Cabernet Sauvignon is guaranteed to make you smile ear to ear. The Trios is drawn from prized vineyards in Rutherford, Yountsville and Coombsville that each feature porous, gravelly soil. This forces the roots to dig deep into the poor soil, drawing mineral groundwater for fresh, vibrant grapes. The vineyards’ position on the valley floor guarantees excellent sun exposure providing for superb concentration. The resulting wine is deep and concentrated, with flavors of strawberry, black cherry, licorice and toasty oak. The tannins are fine and the finish is mineral and seems to just go on and on. R37-1 -

Barlow Vineyards 2016 Merlot
$49.99Napa Valley California
Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruit and herb spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and raspberry with cacao, licorice and earthy herb notes. Fine soft tannins, nice acidity, good balance on long finish ending with fruit, tobacco and cedar notes. Drinking well now! SP17-2 -
Barnett Vineyards 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
$99.99Spring Mountain District Napa Valley
The 2017 Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the darkest we’ve made. Big black raspberry jumps from the glass as well as blueberry jam and black pepper. There is a bright chocolate element surrounded by cedar notes. The mouthfeel is rich and lush with a lot more dark fruit as well as cigar box and mocha. The tannins are significant, very big, and chalky. While the mountain acidity is firm it is the tannins that dominate. There is a long black raspberry and mocha finish to the wine. This sizeable Cabernet will age amazingly over the next 14-15 years (2033-2034). SP26-5 SP29-4 -
Beau Marchais 2019 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard
$84.99Santa Lucia Highlands California
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
I loved these wines from barrel last year, and they didn't disappoint from bottle. Starting with the Santa Lucia Highlands release, the 2019 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard has a deep, nuanced yet powerful style that offers impressive black raspberry and red currant fruits to go with lots of spice, loamy soil, spring flower, and earthy forest floor notes. Gorgeously textured on the palate, this medium to full-bodied Pinot has ripe, polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and the fruit and opulence to drink nicely today yet also evolve for a good 7-8 years, if you're so inclined. Beaulieu Vineyard BV 2021 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
$149.99Napa Valley California
Wine Spectator 95 Rating
This is packed with dark, winey flavors of black currant and blackberry paste underscored with alder, sweet tobacco, warm paving stone and black licorice notes, while a violet accent fills the background. The polished finish makes this accessible now, but there’s plenty of life ahead. Drink now through 2042. BX-6 R45-5 -

Bedrock 2018 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage
$49.99Sonoma Valley California
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Bedrock Vineyard Heritage opens with fantastic perfume: ripe peach, sliced blueberries, warm red cherries, underbrush, violet and dried tangerine peel with nuances of crushed stone, dried hollyhock and exotic spices. Medium-bodied, it floods the mouth with singularly perfumed fruit layers, with a chewy frame and wicked freshness, finishing long and evolving. Wow! Just a pup, give this another year or two in bottle and drink it over the next 10-15 years. SP20-9
