  • Illumination 2022 Sauvignon Blanc

    $39.99$210.00

    Napa & Sonoma Counties California
    Enjoyabilityfactor 94 Rating
There is a strong set of white wines in the September Releases this year, and this stands up right alongside the best of them. As with the reds from Quintessa, you should expect a nuanced wine that is full of clarity of expression, going long on the tension and juice that makes Illumination such a great food wine. This is deftly made, well balanced, with grippy lime zest, lemon and grass alongside richer quince, citrus, pink grapefruit and gunsmoke. A serious take on Sauvignon Blanc, with a savory tang. Keeps a pillowcase of air underneath it from the beginning to the end. Fruit sourced from 45% Napa County and 55% Sonoma County. Winemaker Rebekah Wineberg, consultant Michel Rolland.

  • Immortal Estate 2014 Impassible Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

    $299.99

    Sonoma County California
    Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
All from estate fruit, the 2014 Impassible Mountain is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 27 months in 75% new French oak. It reveals a deeper ruby/purple color as well as a beautiful perfume of blackcurrants, mulled spice, graphite, crushed rock, and earth. Incredibly deep, full-bodied, and opulent, yet always with a sense of purity, minerality, and length, it's a monumental wine that builds on the palate, has ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and an awesome finish. • Immortal Estate 2016 Impassible Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

    $399.99

    Sonoma County California

A smaller selection and also all Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Impassible Mountain (28 months in 85% new French oak) offers more of everything and is a magical, blockbuster, yet ethereal styled Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma. With a kaleidoscopic array of crème de cassis, sagebrush, tobacco, cedar pencil, and awesome minerality, it has incredible concentration, full-bodied richness, and a skyscraper-like mouthfeel, yet it also stays weightless, elegant, and flawlessly balanced. There are few estates coming close to this level of quality in Sonoma with Cabernet Sauvignon, and if you want to taste pure perfection from Sonoma, try this wine! It’s still a baby, and I suspect it will need 8-10 years to hit maturity, but it's going to evolve for 30-40 years. R16-3

  • Immortal Estate 2017 Slope Cabernet Sauvignon

    $79.99$840.00

    Sonoma County California
    Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
A big beast of a wine, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Slope has loads of blackcurrant and blackberry-styled fruits as well as toasted spice, graphite, licorice, and crushed stone-like aromas and flavors. Structured, full-bodied, and tannic, it has masses of baby fat that will take at least 7-8 years to melt away, yet it's one satisfying mouthful of a Cabernet today.

Very ripe, yet discreet and so mineral and punchy, almost like smelling a wet rock. Bone-dry and crisp, yet elegant and textured. Really attractive and subtle with a linear, mineral finish. Delicious now, but will hold, too.

  • Inglenook 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

    $69.99

    Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
The base cuvée is the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec sourced all from Rutherford. It has a classic, Saint Julien-like bouquet of crème de cassis, tobacco lead, damp earth, and spice that gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, textured Cabernet that hits all the right marks. The top Rubicon release has a touch more elegant and precision, but this isn't far off. Drink this stunner any time over the coming 20 years or more. SPCAB1-12

Full-bodied with lots of layered fruit and round, creamy tannins. The palate shows lovely ripe-berry character with chocolate and hazelnut and a long, flavorful finish. Hints of black truffles. Plenty going on here with a firm framework that gives the wine form and interest.

A deep, dark color and powerful aromas of black currant and dark chocolate lead to huge, ripe flavors of blackberry and boysenberry. This is a full-bodied and lavishly tannic wine. Best through 2028.

This wine has a refined nose with aromas of leather and cherries that are truthful to Cabernet Sauvignon in Washington. The flavors are layered with tones of blueberry jam, pomegranate and chocolate. The texture is rustic, yet silky, with a unique savory and inviting finish.
