Nose composed of an intense fruity bouquet with many gourmet aromas. The round and ample palate is slightly contrasted by fine floral notes. A nice general structure with a long aromatic persistence full of complexity.

  • Chateau La Gaffeliere 2010 Grand Cru Classe Saint-Emilion

The 2010's final blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc offers up impressive levels of red, blue and black fruits as well as some toasty oak and crushed rock, giving it minerality. Of course, the acidity in this vintage, with its lower pHs than 2009, provide a freshness and precision that is rare for wines so rich. This wine has plenty of tannin, so give it 4-6 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 25-30 years. R29-1

The 2015 La Gaffelière is a wine of total finesse. Much less obvious and overt than most Saint-Émilions in this vintage, La Gaffelière makes its case on harmony and grace above all else. Bright, lifted Cabernet Franc-infused aromatics give the 2015 striking freshness and aromatic presence. The flavors are bright and nuanced to the core, with plenty of red cherry, espresso and floral notes. But back to the basics. In 2015 La Gaffelière is a wine that stands out because of its impeccable balance and sense of proportion. I loved it. Tasted two times. R29-1

A warm wine rich in tannins and with succulent berry fruits, this is both powerful and elegant. Its density doesn’t detract from the fruitiness that shines out of the wine and balances with the structured aging potential. *Editors’ Choice Award* R29-1

The 2018 La Gaffelière is hands down one of the wines of the vintage. Towering in its stature and vertical lift, the 2018 dazzles right out of the gate. Inky dark fruit, mocha, spice, licorice and leather all run through this deep, wonderfully pliant Saint-Émilion. The 2018 is rich, deep and beautifully resonant, with tremendous depth and tons of stature that builds, all framed by beams of supporting minerality that confer vibrancy. La Gaffelière is distinctive, alluring and arresting right out of the gate. It is another magnificent showing from this reborn estate. The blend is 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Franc. Magnifique! • Chateau La Mascaronne 2022 Cotes de Provence Rose

    $24.99$132.00

Château La Mascaronne Rosé 2022 is a particularly concentrated vintage, resulting from a meticulous blending. This year, our terroir has given us a tasty, round and expressive Cinsault with complex, floral notes, bringing their freshness to the wine. The Grenache, also intense and aromatic, brings its notes of yellow fruits and a beautiful structure to our Rosé while the Syrah gives a pretty, luminous hue with bluish reflections. It brings the greediness of red fruit aromas as well as a nice tension and structure to the wine. It also gives a differentiating and complex touch. This blend is completed by Rolle which brings aromatic subtlety and allows a greater potential for ageing. It expresses notes of fresh exotic fruits, then with time it refines with rounder aromas of apricots.

The classic cuvée is the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc, which is based on 43% Roussanne, 30% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc, and 2% Bourboulenc. It’s brilliant stuff, offering lots of bright lemon and pineapple-like fruits as well as white flowers, honeysuckle, and a kiss of chalky minerality. Beautiful on the palate as well, it’s medium to full-bodied, with integrated acidity and just flawless balance. It ranks with the finest whites in the vintage and is well worth seeking out. It should have over a decade of prime drinking, although there’s no need to delay gratification.
