  • Chateau La Tour Blanche 2001 Sauternes

    $89.99

    Bordeaux France
    Wine Advocate 96 Rating
The La Tour Blanche 2001 has long been the “insiders’ Sauternes” for the vintage. Leave the Yquem ’01 for the millionaires: load up on one of the finest recent vintages from the estate. It has a potent honeyed, frangipane and white flower-scented bouquet with subtle nougat scents in the background lending it an exotic edge. The palate is extremely well balanced with fine acidity effortlessly slicing a swathe through that unctuous, honeyed fruit. There are also understated marmalade notes with a suggestion of crème brûlée furnishing the weighty finish that goes on and on. Just don’t tell anyone how good this La Tour Blanche is…promise? Highly Recommended Selection

Dark gold in color already, with intense aromas of dried apricots, citrus, honey and maple syrup with lots of spice. Full-bodied, with lovely sweetness and a long, creamy peach tart, tobacco, honey aftertaste. This is pure botrytis. Best ever from here. Has an incredible finish. R39-3

  • Chateau La Tour Blanche 2009 Sauternes

    $74.99

    Bordeaux France
    Wine Advocate 93 Rating
The 2009 La Tour Blanche has a gorgeous, botrytis-rich bouquet with lemon thyme, honey and spice, with just a touch of alcoholic warmth denying it the clarity it deserves. The palate is crisp and taut on the entry with notes of apricot and white peach emerging with a few swirls of the glass. It offers a pleasing viscosity and volume in the mouth, although compared to its barrel showing, it appears to have tightened up more than I expected, possibly a sign that it is a wine in for the long haul. • Chateau la Vieille 2018 Cure Fronsac

    $39.99$384.00

    Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
The deep ruby-hued 2018 Château La Vieille Cure is a smoking wine that readers should snatch up! Lots of red and black currants, cedary spice, dried tobacco, and a touch of chalky minerality all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a fruit-loaded, concentrated mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It has a touch of background oak, but that should integrate with 2-4 years in the cellar, and this gorgeous Fronsac will shine over the following decade or more.

  • Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2020 Pauillac

    $899.99

    Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
Looking at the Grand Vin, the 2020 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is a sensational effort checking in as 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot that hit 12.8% natural alcohol and a pH of 3.94. As Lafite as Lafite gets, this ultra-classic reveals a dense ruby/plum hue as well as a tight, yet layered bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, freshly sharpened pencils, graphite, and subtle spice. Flawlessly balanced, deep, concentrated, and layered, it has an incredible mid-palate, building, perfect tannins, and a finish that leaves you salivating. Refined, elegant, and perfection are the buzz words here. Unfortunately, it’s not for the instant gratification crowd, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this require 15 years to hit the early stages of its prime drinking window. It will probably hit its 100th birthday in fine form. Best After 2038. R42-3

  • Chateau Lafleur Gazin 2020 Pomerol

    $59.99

    Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
All Merlot, the 2020 Chateau Lafleur-Gazin is a charming, layered Pomerol that has already accessible aromatics of red and black fruits, cedarwood, tobacco leaf, and camphor. Nicely textured and medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has terrific balance and will evolve for 15-20 years without any issues. Best After 2023. SPBX-12

  • Chateau Lafon-Rochet 2020 Saint-Estephe

    $55.99

    Bordeaux France
    Vinous 96 Rating
The 2020 Lafon-Rochet represents the essence of classicism in Bordeaux. Medium in body and finely-cut, Lafon-Rochet is one of the classiest, more refined Saint-Estèphes readers will come across. Dark fruit, earthiness, lavender, licorice, menthol and cloves add nuance, but it is the wine’s balance and vibrancy that impress most. Give the tannins a few years to melt away. Superb. Best after 2030. SPBX-6
