It's another elegant, silky wine that offers terrific crème de cassis, crushed violets, licorice and chalky mineral-like aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, silky and pure, with fine tannin and good (maybe not great length), it has stunning purity and is going to drink nicely right out of the gate. SP20-2

The 2021 Oublié from this great estate checks in as a blend of 41% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 27% Mourvèdre, and a splash of Tannat. This straight-up seamless beauty offers a killer array of darker berry fruits, peppery herbs, licorice, and underbrush to go with a medium to full-bodied, beautifully layered, seamless style on the palate that’s hard to resist. The balance is spot on, and it has fine tannins as well as a great finish. I’d be thrilled to drink a bottle any time over the coming 7-8 years and certainly wouldn’t be surprised to see it evolve longer.

Camphor, cedar, cassis and blackberries all appear on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a massively concentrated yet vibrant offering. It’s full-bodied and intense, velvety and rich, but it shows ample energy and thrust on the finish. If there’s a complaint, it’s that it’s too monolithic, but I’d chalk that up to its youth at this stage and expect it to gain complexity as it ages for two decades or more. R37-3
