One wine that will never be rated, nor see a top 100 list is the Chalk Hill RRV Chardonnay. That’s not a bad thing – it’s just the winery’s ‘secret Chardonnay.’ It’s never released to the general public or retail, only a few hundred cases are made each year to service the restaurant industry. But luckily for us, I’ve got a restaurant. And while the Sonoma Coast bottling is definitely the ‘calling card’ that you’re used to seeing from this great estate, I’m telling you the Russian River Valley Chardonnay blows that one out of the water. It’s a Nicholas wines all-time favorite.

Red and black currants, fresh figs, savory flowers, spicy wood, and some camphor notes all soar from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with a pure, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and outstanding length.
