Lastly, the Grand Vin 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges De Latour Private Reserve is just about pure perfection, and the fact that there are roughly 12,000 cases is incredible. Classis darker fruits (cassis, currants) as well as chocolate, leafy tobacco, and loamy earth all define the bouquet, and this full-bodied, concentrated, powerful, yet also elegant 2019 has the balance and structure to evolve for decades. It should be relatively easy to find this in the market, and you won't be disappointed. -

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve is fabulous. Inky, rich and explosive, the 2018 is a fine addition to the lineage of one of Napa Valley's most historic wines. Inky red fruit, chocolate, leather and licorice all open in the glass. Aeration brings out floral top notes, raspberry and a hint of blood orange. There is plenty of depth, but the tannins are finer than they were a few years ago. Shorter time on the skins and a reduction in barrel fermentations really allow the pedigree of these Rutherford sites to come through. The 2018 is sensational. R35-4 -

The 2019 Blueline Merlot checks in as 82% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Aged 18 months in French oak, it's a ripe, sexy, beautifully textured Merlot revealing plenty of red and blue fruits as well as notes of tobacco and sappy flowers. It's ripe but also balanced, and it’s already drinking brilliantly. SP17-2 -

Medium ruby-purple in the glass, it's scented of cranberries, blackberries and blueberries with touches of mushroom and lavender. Light-bodied, soft and juicy, it offers generous, perfumed fruit and a long, floral finish. It's exported around the world and should be fairly easy to find.

Full-bodied with an amazingly harmonious texture to the palate, thanks to the dense, very fine tannins that also provide super length. There’s a bright, saline mineral note that kicks in and pushes the finish even further. Exquisite Amarone. Drink or hold.
