The base release is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon and it comes from multiple sites throughout the valley. It’s a killer wine and offers the classic sweet crème de cassis and blackberry fruit that's the hallmark of the vintage. With loads of richness, notes of Asian spices, pencil lead and cedar, full-bodied richness, and sweet tannin, it's already drinking beautifully yet will keep for another two decades or more. SP26-1

Composed of 81% Cabernet Sauvingon, 15% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Apassionata has an inky purple-black color and conjures notions of crème de cassis, chocolate box and aniseed with hints of chargrilled meat, fertile earth and menthol. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine hails from the esteemed Dionysus Vineyard. Reserved aromas of fresh herbs, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, cherries, raspberries and plums are followed by plentiful dark fruit and chocolate flavors. It's all about subtlety and nuance, with enough structure to go the distance. R1-1 SP25-2

Vividly “Graves-like” in both its flavor profile and elegant style, this is the best Scribe Cabernet yet produced. The nose is a focused perfume of ripe black cherry, Italian Maraschino cherry, black currant, blueberry, grilled black fig, cedar, leather, graphite, charcoal, mocha, peppercorn and dark pipe tobacco scents. The wine is amazingly seductive already, as the texture is racy yet tongue-coating, and the flavors of diamond clarity. A core of syrup drenched Amarena cherries holds center-stage on the palate, with all the other promised elements seeming to follow in lock-step. The finish is ultra-long and the expected gripping tannins are polished into softness and then smothered by a wave of flavor. This beauty will be glorious if allowed the five to ten years its concentration suggests, yet it is so delicious now that few bottles are likely to remain when it achieves full maturity. Only 650 cases produced. SP25-1

This is made from grapes grown at Three Palms Vineyard, alongside other valley floor and mountain fruit, including 10% Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Smooth, lush and robust in dark cherry and plum, it's fruit forward and full bodied, with considerable ripeness. SP25-2

This stellar, powerhouse wine is perfumed in aromas of pencil, leather and sage that season a core of mineral and crushed rock. The fruit is equally savory in currant and plum, with a dusting of dark chocolate. Enjoy now–2029. R29-2 SP24-2

  • Daou 2020 Soul of A Lion Adelaida District Cabernet Sauvignon

Impressively dark in the glass, this bottling pairs intense purple fruit and flower on this nose with more roasted, umami-laden aromas. The elegant palate is a master class in tannin management, proving firm in structure yet soft in mouthfeel. Flavors of blackberry jam, cocoa, walnut and cracked pepper ride a lingering acidity into the finish. R12-3
