Plush and full from the high concentration in the small berries, this wine has ripe creamy aromas of lemon curd with a bit of tropical fruit, leading to sumptuous flavors of Asian pear, tangerine and lychee. Rich, yet light and beautifully balanced.

Trig Point 2021 Diamond Dust Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$29.99 – $288.00Alexander Valley California
Intense purple and reds in color. The aromatics are opulent and very floral. Black fruits were a common theme. Black cherry and plum. The mouth follows with rich dark fruits of plum, blackberry and some licorice texture. Lush ripe tannins, full body and the nice creamy, velvet, tongue-wrapping flavor.

Trimbach 2018 Gewurztraminer
$26.99 – $150.00Alsace France
Wine Enthusiast 92 Rating
Both flinty reduction and rose notes play on the nose. The palate comes in with concentration and a pithy, phenolic texture that lends structure and backbone to this rich, rounded, almost oily but dry wine. Pleasant citrus-pith bitterness sits well with the bold, warm but dry generosity. It’s best to let this come into its own. Drink 2025–2035.

Trimbach 2018 Pinot Gris Reserve
$29.99 – $150.00Alsace France
Enjoyabilityfactor 93 Rating
It has a light golden color. Intense bouquet of aromas of ripe pear, peach, apricot, lemon zest, honey, juicy fruit, cloves, notes of jasmine, and a soft sense of smoke. In the mouth, it is full and round. Juicy peaches, apricots, green apples, ripe pear, and nutmeg flood the palate, while an interesting soft minerality enhances its complexity. Its acidity gives unrestrained freshness and its aftertaste is long.

Tua Rita 2019 Perlato del Bosco Rosso Toscana IGT
$39.99 – $384.00Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 93 Rating
A pure expression of Sangiovese, the Tua Rita 2019 Perlato del Bosco comes from what Stefano Frascolla calls “an odd but ultimately very easy vintage” in terms of farming. This is a historic entry-level red that has been made since 1992 and is closing in on its 30th anniversary. The wood regime that favors large oak cask was tweaked in 2002, and the wine delivers lots of primary intensity and varietal purity in its current incarnation. This is one of the most Sangiovese-tasting Sangioveses made on the Tuscan Coast, with wild berry, cherry and blue flower. Fruit comes from a 4.5-hectare plot.

A pretty red with blackberries, blueberries and sage, as well as dried flowers. Medium body with light, fine tannins and a fresh finish. One of the best I have had. Drink now or hold.

Comprised of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot, the 2016 Proprietary Red Mockingbird Blue has a deep garnet-purple color and spills sensuously out of the glass with seductive notes of blackcurrant cordial, blueberry pie, fruitcake and licorice with suggestions of molten chocolate, spearmint, hoisin and Chinese five spice. Big, rich, full-bodied and decadently spicy in the mouth, it has a firm, grainy frame and a very long, layered finish. SP30-2 -
Turley 2014 Petite Sirah Library Vineyard Napa Valley
$99.99California
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Noticeably floral with blueberries and blackberries is the 2014 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard, from a site adjacent to the Hayne Vineyard on the back streets of St. Helena. Again, this has civilized tannins that are silky and well-integrated, followed by a wine with an enormous wealth of fruit, lavish concentration, and extravagant texture and richness. It is always hard to peg when these will hit full maturity, but this one has a good 5-10 years of development and should keep for three decades as well. SP19-1 -
Turley 2016 Petite Sirah Hayne Vineyard Napa Valley
$114.99California
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
he 2016 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is the most perfumed and elegant of Turley’s Petite Syrahs (they don’t spell it “Sirah”) this year, unfurling in the glass with a pure and fragrant bouquet of cassis, dark plums, rose petals and pencil lead. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with a deep core of vibrant, juicy fruit, satiny but abundant tannins and a long finish. It’s an exceptional wine from a singular vineyard. SP15-1
