No Girls 2015 Syrah la Paciencia Vineyard
$139.99Walla Walla Valley
Wine Advocate 96+ Rating

The 2015 Syrah la Paciencia Vineyard is very impressive, unfurling in the glass with a wonderfully savory bouquet of tapenade, dark chocolate, bresaola, cassis, currant leaf, potpourri and mandarin oil. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and complete, but it's quite serious and tight-knit despite its structural refinement and will certainly reward patience. Pure and complete, it concludes with a long, sapid finish. R2-2 SP15-1 -
No Girls 2013 Grenache la Paciencia Vineyard
$139.99Walla Walla Valley
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Leading off the 2013s from bottle, the 2013 Grenache la Paciencia Vineyard is getting up there with some of the top Grenache releases to come out of the New World. Incredibly perfumed, with notes of herbes de Provence, flowers, dried strawberries and assorted red fruits, it’s medium to full-bodied, seamless and impeccably balanced. The buzz words here are perfume, complexity and elegance. It’s also worth noting that the Grenache vines for this wine come from the famed Rayas lieu-dit in Chateauneuf du Pape. SP18-1 -

Moving to the Syrah, the 2013 Syrah la Paciencia is another pretty, perfumed, medium to full-bodied effort that reminds me of a Cote Rotie from the southern, Cote Blonde end of the appellation. Crushed flowers, raspberries, violets, incense and dried herbs all emerge from this elegant, seamless Syrah that has fine tannin and a clean, focused finish. It will drink well for a decade. SP15-2 -
Kosta Browne 2016 Gap’s Crown Pinot Noir
$139.99Sonoma Coast California
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2016 Pinot Noir Gaps Crown comes from a great, great site on the Sonoma Coast and saw 15% whole clusters and 40% new wood. It’s a deep, rich, blacker fruit-driven effort that shows more and more savory, iron, and earthy notes with time in the glass. It’s ripe and opulent on the palate, with building tannin, yet packs a wealth of fruit and texture, while still showing the more elegant, balanced style of the vintage. SP9-3 -
Cayuse 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard
$139.99Walla Walla Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard is another winner (best to date?), showing an incredibly bloody, iron quality as well as beautiful purity in its bright cherry, blackberries, violets, pork fat, and acacia flower aromas and flavors. Seamless, silky, gorgeous, and perfectly balanced, it's another heavenly wine from Baron that’s going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for 10-15. R10-1 -
Isole e Olena 2020 Capparello
$139.99 – $720.00Tuscany Italy
Vinous 97 Rating
The 2020 Cepparello is dense, powerful and soaring in intensity. A dark, almost somber Cepparello, the 2020 possesses remarkable depth from start to finish. Black cherry, plum, gravel, dried herbs and lavender build in a vivid, stunningly beautiful Cepparello that hits all the right notes.

Guado al Tasso 2019 Bolgheri Superiore
$139.99Tuscany Italy
James Suckling 98 Rating
This has a wild and perfumed nose of dried thyme, sage, blackberries, cocoa, graphite and white and green peppercorns. Then dried flowers. Full-bodied with firm, tight and precise tannins. Vibrant. There’s so much character and structure. A new benchmark for this winery. More cabernet franc than in the past. Best yet? 65% cabernet sauvignon, 25% cabernet franc and 10% merlot. Try from 2025. Silver Oak 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

James Suckling 95 Rating
So elegant, supple and silky, this vintage is a dream to drink now, but should also have plenty of life ahead of it. Aromas of blueberries and dark chocolate meld with luxe black fruit, mint and cocoa on the palate. A blend of 77% cabernet sauvignon, 18% merlot and dashes of cabernet franc and petit verdot. R4-1 -

A Cellar Selection
Unfolding in a way that captures the attention and imagination at once, this Veneto classic is a wine lover’s must. Opening with aromas of blackberry jam, plum preserves, anise, clove and espresso, it might overwhelm at first but give it a second. The palate is rich and layered with flavors that deserve some time to develop. Black cherries, tobacco, vanilla and spice all swirl on the palate into an elegant and refined finish.
