Showing beautifully on multiple occasions, the 2016 Château Phélan Ségur is incredibly impressive and reveals a saturated purple as well as pure cassis, violets, damp earth, lead pencil, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. Beautifully layered and textured, concentrated, with fine tannins and the purity and elegance that make the vintage so compelling front and center, it’s a high-class Saint Estèphe to enjoy over the coming 20-25 years or more. Hartford Court 2018 Chardonnay Stone Côte Vineyard
$58.99Sonoma Coast California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
Also from the Sonoma Coast, the 2018 Chardonnay Stone Cote Vineyard offers up an exotic, full-bodied, concentrated style as well as complex lemon and orchard fruits, notes of chamomile, toasted almonds, and baking spice notes, flawless balance, integrated acidity, and a chalky, mineral-laced finish. This magical, thrilling Chardonnay will cruise for 5-7 years (probably longer) in cold cellars, and it ranks with the top handful of wines in the vintage. R42-2 -
Hartford Court 2017 Chardonnay Stone Côte Vineyard
$58.99Sonoma Coast California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
From a site on the Sonoma Coast (this comes all from a block within the Durell Vineyard), the 2017 Chardonnay Stone Côte Vineyard reminds me of a Grand Cru Chablis on steroids, with gorgeous lemon curd, white flowers, crushed chalk, and a touch of green almond, with its oak beautifully integrated. Showing medium to full-bodied richness as well as flawless balance, this is a Chardonnay that builds with time in the glass as well as on the palate and has bright, salty acidity and incredible length. Beautifully done, it’s another thrilling Chardonnay from this estate. R35-1 -
Château Gloria 2020 Saint-Julien
$56.99Bordeaux
Vinous 95 Rating
The 2020 Gloria has an intense nose of penetrating blackberry, raspberry, crushed violet and crushed stone aromas. After 20 minutes, this just blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, fine acidity and just a touch of espresso and orange peel toward the finish, which remains taught and focused. What a wonderful Gloria! This might actually surpass its sibling, Château St. Pierre, this year. SPBX-12 -
Alban Vineyards 2021 Syrah Patrina Alban Estate
$55.99Edna Valley California
Wine Spectator 94 Rating
Plump and polished, with sleekly layered black raspberry flavors that are accented by dark chocolate, savory meat and cracked pepper tones that sail on the long and savory finish. Drink now through 2033. SP17-4 -
Chateau Lafon-Rochet 2020 Saint-Estephe
$55.99Bordeaux France
Vinous 96 Rating
The 2020 Lafon-Rochet represents the essence of classicism in Bordeaux. Medium in body and finely-cut, Lafon-Rochet is one of the classiest, more refined Saint-Estèphes readers will come across. Dark fruit, earthiness, lavender, licorice, menthol and cloves add nuance, but it is the wine’s balance and vibrancy that impress most. Give the tannins a few years to melt away. Superb. Best after 2030. SPBX-6 -
Chateau de Saint Cosme 2019 Gigondas

Highly Recommended Selection
Dark and winey, this structured offering packs red and black currant paste flavors together with threads of charcoal, warm stone, bay leaf and savory, ending with a long tug of cast iron through the finish. A blue chip for cellaring. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Drink now through 2035. Only 930 cases imported. R24-5 -
Pecchenino 2018 San Giuseppe Barolo
$54.99Piedmont Italy
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
Smoky incense lifts from the 2018 Barolo San Giuseppe, followed by notes of palo santo, sage, and red cherry. Medium bodied on the palate, with fine but present tannins and notes of pomegranate, tea leaf, and orange rind, it is attractive and structured for the vintage. Drink 2025-2040. SP42-6 -
