Grown in the southern, cooler end of the valley and brought up in a mix of new and used French Oak, this is quintessential Coombsville, expressing the volcanic soils and cool temperatures with textural and aromatic intensity. The stunning 100% Cabernet Sauvignon mesmerizes at the first swirl of the glass with seductive aromatics of dark currants and cassis accented by candied violets, pencil lead and tobacco. The full-bodied palate offers flawless balance, seamless tannins, and a long, supple finish. This will age gracefully for multiple decades. SP30-1

  • Domaine Lucien Boillot & Fils 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin

    $79.99$420.00

    Cote de Nuits Burgundy France
Today the 7ha farm is composed of vines inherited in Côte de Beaune (2.80 ha) and vines bought in Côte de Nuits (4.30 ha) on 16 different appellations: Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet… All vines are owned. Pinot Noir represents nearly 95% of the grapes produced, supplemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
The average age of the vines is important (nearly 55 years) which explains the complexity of all the vintages. The estate works in reasoned struggle with certain methods inspired by organic farming. The harvest is carried out manually and all the grapes are usually 100% destemmed. The fermentations are gentle, derived from indigenous yeasts by limiting extraction. Aging is carried out in oak barrels at about 30% new barrels for 16 to 18 months depending on the year. The result? Authentic, precise wines, both elegant and in a delicate style.

  • Chateau de Beaucastel 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape

    $99.99

    Southern Rhone Valley

So much ripe damson-plum and blackberry fruit, but also notes of licorice, candied ginger and baking spices. In spite of all the considerable power and concentration, this is anything but loud or domineering, rather it tastes very poised and precise. Very long finish with pronounced stony character. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. SP38-4

  • Peter Michael 2018 Les Pavots

    $249.99

    James Suckling 97 Rating
Love the sweet berries, black olives, tile and fresh herbs on the nose with floral undertones. Oyster shell, too. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins that are beautifully polished and refined. Very long finish. All about finesse and wonderful length. 68% cabernet sauvignon, 19% cabernet franc, 10% merlot and 3% petit verdot. Drink after 2023. BX-6

Complex, sophisticated and harmonious, this pure red is marked by black currant, black cherry, cedar, iron and light spice flavors. Bright and focused, with refined tannins emerging on the spice-tinged finish. Discreet and stylish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2040. SP47-2

  • Camigliano 2016 Brunello di Montalcino

    $39.99

    Tuscany Italy
    Wine Advocate 93 Rating
The Camigliano 2016 Brunello di Montalcino offers a more robust bouquet compared to its peers, with its dark and saturated fruit. One thing Camigliano has going for it is that it always delivers the characteristics of its environment. In this case, the vines are located in a warm, sun-drenched corner of Tuscany, and the warm ripeness of the fruit is a testament of place. R37-2

  • Tyler 2019 Mae Estate Chardonnay

    $69.99

    Santa Rita Hills California
    Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Mae Estate is brand new cuvée from Tyler. “This place came on the market in 2014,” explains winemaker Justin Tyler Willett. “We had contemplated buying a place, so we will break ground here in 2022 on a new winery.” Located in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation on marine sediment soils, the Mae Estate will become the new home for Tyler wines. The 2019 Chardonnay Mae Estate is a beautiful first iteration. The nose features creamy panna cotta, lemon peel and pastry aromas streaked with sweet spice, and the palate has a unique satiny texture that coats the mouth and draws out its plush, creamy citrus and apricot layers. A powerhouse of a wine that flirts with perfection, the 2019 Hermitage reveals a dense purple hue as well as an extraordinary bouquet of sweet blue fruits supported by notes of crushed stone, lead pencil, leather, and ground pepper, with hints of flowers in the background. Full-bodied, stunningly pure, and massively concentrated, yet with riveting precision and elegance, it needs to be hidden in the back of the cellar for a decade and will evolve for 30, 40, if not 50 years. Tasting the trilogy of the 2018, 2019, and 2020 over the coming decades will be the equivalent of wine nirvana. SP39-9

  • Lail Vineyards 2019 J. Daniel Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon

    $299.99

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Advocate 98-100 Rating
The 2019 J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon is a barrel sample with a deep garnet-purple color. It needs a little coaxing to unlock pronounced blackcurrant preserves, Black Forest cake and stewed plums scents with hints of star anise, clove oil, unsmoked cigars and tilled soil with a waft of roses. Full-bodied, the palate explodes with vibrant black fruits, framed by wonderfully plush tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and fragrant. Beautiful! BX-12
