  • Andremily 2022 Mourvedre

    Andremily 2022 Mourvedre

    $119.99

    Santa Barbara County
    The Wine Independent 98+ Rating
Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose of the 2022 Mourvèdre is so fragrant, giving up expressive notes of juicy blackberries, plum preserves, and black raspberries, leading to an undercurrent of lavender, violets, and forest floor. The full-bodied palate has a rock-solid texture of firm, grainy tannins and beautifully balanced acidity with taut, muscular black fruit and a long, Darjeeling tea-laced finish. The 2022 Mourvèdre is composed of 89% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and 1% Viognier, using 70% whole cluster. It was aged for 21 months in French oak barriques, 50% new. Only 500 cases were made.

Deep blackberry, cassis, prune, vanilla and graphite aromas open this powerfully built Malbec that’s fully saturated and fully oaked. Toasty blackberry flavors are distinctly chocolaty on the back side. The wine tastes of black licorice, café mocha and black pepper on the finish. Drink 2023–2030. R30-3

  • Antinori 2020 Solaia

    Antinori 2020 Solaia

    Price range: $399.99 through $2,100.00

    Tuscany Italy
    Antonio Galloni 97 Rating
The 2020 Solaia is an infant. I expected a more exuberant wine, but the 2020 is built along more classic lines. Black cherry, plum, gravel, incense, smoke, pencil shavings and spice all open effortlessly. As always, Solaia is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine, but it is a Cabernet that is distinctly Italian, with plenty of Tuscan acid and structure driving through the mid-palate and into the finish. The 2020 is a terrific example of the recent stylistic shift at Antinori. In the past, richness and opulence were qualities of a vintage that would have been amplified in the vineyard and cellar. Today, the aim is to capture a more balanced expression of these kinds of vintages, and that very much comes through. SP44-6

  • Antinori 2021 Tignanello

    Antinori 2021 Tignanello

    $159.99

    Tuscany Italy
    Wine Spectator 97 Rating
The currants and spices are very pretty, with some hazelnut undertones. Medium- to full-bodied with juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. Very structured for a Tignanello, with medium chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Very polished and curated with a deft winemaking hand coming through. Needs three or four years to soften, but it’s all there. R13-5

  • Antinori 2022 Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore

Antinori 2022 Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore

    Price range: $139.99 through $810.00

    Bolgheri Italy
    Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
The 2022 Guado Al Tasso has a saturated purple/magenta color and is 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot. The nose shows off ripe primary fruit of fresh blueberries, blackberries, leather, violets, wet stone, and Mediterranean herbs. Full-bodied, it fills the palate but remains fresh and even, with plush, ripe tannins, delicate warming spice, and a long finish. While it has the richness and ripe fruit one comes to expect from this estate, it offers exceptional refinement as well. Drink 2027-2050.
