  • Domaine Ostertag 2019 Les Vieilles Vignes de Sylvaner

    $26.99$288.00

    Alsace France
The Sylvaner Vieilles Vignes at Domaine Ostertag features a beautiful immaculate dress. It is a dry white wine yet endowed with an obvious roundness. The nose is aromatic with fragrances of white fruit, citrus and fresh grapes with scents of white flowers. On the palate, this white sylvaner Ostertag Vieilles Vignes is pleasant and well balanced. A very beautiful wine that transcends the grape variety. Once the most used grape variety in Alsatian production because it resulted in the “wine of everyday life”, production has greatly slowed down thereafter but is now finding renewed interest.

    Wine Spectator 94 Rating
Dark and winey, featuring lots of currant, fig and blackberry compote notes stuffed together, with hints of ganache, tobacco and roasted alder filling in around them. A warm earth accent runs through the finish, which exhibits grip and drive. Rock-solid. Best from 2022 through 2037. 750 cases made, 200 cases imported. R45-5

  • Domaine Pere Caboche 2021 Cotes du Rhone Red

    Southern Rhone Valley
The color is a beautiful ruby red with violet highlights. Expressive on the nose, with jammy red fruits and soft spices. Particularly silky on the mouth, with very fine grain tannins. This wine also shows a very nice freshness. The whole is elegant and pleasing, with a dominating aroma of ripe fruits, grey pepper, and a hint of sage. The finish Is soft and fresh, almost minty. A nice Cotes-du-Rhone to be fond of, accessible to all.

  • Domaine Pierre Labet 2017 Beaune Clos du dessus des Marconnets Rouge

    $89.99

    Burgundy France
    Wine Spectator 93 Rating
Leafy underbrush, sandalwood and incense aromas and flavors augment the cherry and plum fruit in this rich, robust red. A finely-meshed matrix of tannins lays the groundwork, while the finish is long and complex, echoing spice and woodsy elements. Best from 2023 through 2038. SP3-5

  • Domaine Rapet Père & Fils 2016 Corton Grand Cru

    $129.99

    Burgundy France
Allen Meadows – Burghound 93 Rating
Once again there is a subtle application of wood framing the much earthier and more somber dark berry aromas that still manage to retain an appealing freshness. The lavishly rich yet muscular big-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mouth feel before concluding in a less mineral-driven but more powerful finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than it usually is. This too should age effortlessly though it appears as though it will be accessible after only 5 to 7. SP3-1

  • Domaine Rapet Père et Fils 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

    $159.99

    Burgundy France
    Wine Advocate 95 Rating
With the 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Rapet has produced his finest white since 2014. The wine opens in the glass with a classy nose of ripe lemons, green apple, white flowers and crushed chalk, framed by subtle hints of oatmeal and beeswax. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with excellent concentration and broad shoulders, but also promising structural tension and reserve. The long, chalky finish is penetrating and intense. This is well worth seeking out. SPB8-5 R35-4

  • Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils 2019 Chateauneuf Du Pape Les Apotres

    $119.99

    Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
A relatively new cuvée that encompasses all the permitted varieties of the appellation and is brought up in amphora, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Apotres offers a beautiful perfume of black raspberry and blackberry fruits interwoven with loads of spring flowers, white truffle, spice, and sappy garrigue aromas and flavors. This beauty is seamless, medium to full-bodied, and my money is on it being the finest vintage for this cuvée to date. BX-6

  • Domaine Raymond Usseglio 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Imperiale

    $89.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France
    Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Most of the vInes for the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Imperiale were planted in 1902, mainly Grenache, with a few other scattered plants of other varieties. Full-bodied and concentrated, it boasts massive flavors of raspberries and cherries, with just enough herbal intricacies woven into the fabric of the wine to impart a sense of lightness and freshness—it positively tingles on the long, long finish. Produced from biodynamically grown fruit at yields just half the maximum permitted by the appellation (16–18 hectoliters per hectare, versus 35), it's a tremendous effort. R11-2 SPBX-12
