Chateau Barreyres 2016 Bordeaux Blends Haut Medoc
Price range: $29.99 through $300.00Bordeaux France
James Suckling 90 Rating
Chateau Barreyres shows a sumptuous deep purple color. The nose opens with appealing aromas of fresh red fruit alongside classic features associated with well-managed aging. This is a fine, elegant Cru Bourgeois with a very pleasing profile, including good structure and a full body. The finish is remarkably persistent.

Chateau Batailley 2010 Grand Cru Pauillac
$169.99Bordeaux France
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. A strong performance from Batailley under blind conditions, easily surpassing its showing at the UGC in London last year. The 2010 has a very elegant bouquet with blackberry, cedar and leather, well defined and very nicely focused, though not the most vigorous amongst its peers. The palate is very well balanced with filigree tannins, perfectly judged acidity and a very appealing “classic” style of Pauillac very the top drawer. What a superb Pauillac – a benchmark Batailley. Chateau Bellefont Belcier 2016 St-Emilion Grand Cru
$69.99Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2016 Château Bellefont-Belcier was truly brilliant on all three occasions I was able to taste it, rating 95 twice and 97 once. Coming from a 13.5-hectare vineyard on the magical Côte Pavie (it’s right next door to Larcis-Ducasse) and a blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 80% new oak, it offers a black fruit-driven style as well as loads of black raspberries, black cherries, graphite, leafy herbs, and hints of incense. It's powerful, full-bodied, has building sweet tannins, and the rock star purity of fruit that's the hallmark of the vintage. It’s an awesome wine to drink over the coming 20-25 years. SP51-5 -
Chateau Bellefont-Belcier 2020 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Price range: $64.99 through $300.00Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
The finest wine I've tasted from this estate, the 2020 Chateau Bellefont-Belcier is an incredibly gorgeous blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep ruby/purple-hued, it offers a great nose of cassis, ripe black cherries, camphor, dried flowers, cedar, and forest floor. Bringing gorgeous richness, it nevertheless stays flawlessly balanced, with ultra-fine tannins and a great finish. The purity of fruit here is just about off the charts. While it already offers pleasure, it's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and have 20-25 years of prime drinking. This estate uses a five-day cold soak and fermentation, all in concrete, spanning 25 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrel (four months on lees), and the wine spends 18 months in 30% new French oak, with the balance in once- and twice-used barrels. Yields in 2020 were also reasonable at 34 hectoliters per hectare. Best After 2026. SPBX-6 SP56-4

James Suckling 90 Rating
Rich, dark-fruited aromas with hints of chocolate, spices and hazelnuts. Medium- to full-bodied, meaty and light yet chewy on the palate, with vivid acidity and good fruit concentration. It has a chalky texture at the end. Merlot, malbec, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.

Chateau Bernard Magrez 2019 Red Blend
Price range: $34.99 through $180.00Saint-Estephe Bordeaux France
Decanter Magazine 94 Rating
33% Cabernet Sauvignon & 67% Merlot from the owners of Chateau Pape Clement. Vinified partly in oak barrel, partly in clay amphora, this is polished and finessed but actually more restrained than perhaps I was expecting. A serious wine, with an emphasis on tightly-knitted cassis fruits. An absolutely beautiful whoosh of juicy menthol comes in from mid palate onwards, and a tight tannic crush on the finish that suggests this is going to age well. It’s big shouldered, as all Magrez wines are, but this is a welcome addition to the St Estèphe landscape.

Chateau Bertinerie 2023 Grande Cuvée Blanc
Price range: $21.99 through $216.00Grand Vin de Bordeaux
Enjoyabilityfactor 92 Rating
On the right bank of the Gironde is the Côtes de Blaye, a fairly large wine region where a number of domains stand out. Since the early 60s, the Bantegnies family has been making excellent wines here exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc for the white wines, and in red with the two Cabernets and Merlot. The estate is pruned in Lyre, a way that visually resembles the letter Y. This ‘waist’ allows the vine to be better ventilated and also makes better use of the heat of the sun. A technique that requires great effort, as manual harvesting is always required, but the result is impressive. Château Bertinerie is without a doubt one of the qualitative frontrunners of the appellation and was rightly awarded the title of ‘Grand Cru Non Classé’ by the wine press.

Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle
Price range: $49.99 through $270.00Saint-Julien Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It's classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that's ideal for enjoying over the coming 10-15 years. Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Grand Vin Saint-Julien
$149.99Bordeaux
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
The flagship 2018 Château Beychevelle is a more serious, concentrated, focused wine that still has that classic Saint-Julien purity of fruit as well as a wealth of fruit. Gorgeous notes of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered blueberries, violets, spring flowers, tobacco leaf, and cedar notes all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with sweet tannins, moderate acidity, and a great, great finish. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it's one of the sexiest, most up-front and irresistible wines in the vintage. Don't let that scare you, though; it's going to drink beautifully for 2-3 decades. SP55-4
