Pavillon de Chavannes Cuvee Ambassador Cote de Brouilly
Price range: $26.99 through $276.00Beaujolais France
The southernmost cru of Beaujolais, Cote du Brouilly, also covers one of the smallest areas of any of the ten crus. Each is quirky in its own way with Cote du Brouilly being marked with an ancient volcanic soil and spotted blue stones that cover the hills of Mont Brouilly. Pavillon de Chavannes ‘Cuvée des Ambassades’ – named so as it’s the official wine of French embassies around the world – offers a medium bodied style that incorporates the flavors and characteristics of a Burgundian Pinot Noir but with the soft tannins, fruitiness and refreshing earthiness of an expertly grown Gamay. It bursts with black cherry, gritty minerality, and a floral bouquet that expands into spice and dried herbs.

Pax 2014 Syrah Castelli-Knight Ranch Russian River Valley
$79.99Sonoma County California
Antonio Galloni 94 Rating
Inky black and massively concentrated black fruit, black pepper, tar and roses complete the brilliant aromas of this classic California Syrah. A bit more of a bruiser than the 2013, this 2014 is the perfect foil for a fatty piece of Lamb or your favorite Cowboy Steak fresh off of an iron skillet. The tannins are velvety and the fruit intense, which reminds us mostly of the 2004 version of this wine with a lower abv. SP19-1 -

Penner Ash 2024 Viognier
Price range: $29.99 through $162.00Oregon
Vinous 90 Rating
The 2024 Viognier is spicy in the glass, as a whiff of wild herbs and sour citrus gives way to crushed green apples. Zesty tension reverberates on the palate as salty mineral tones collide with lime-infused orchard fruits. The finish is clean and crisp, leaving the mouth watering for more as a hint of sour melon tapers off.
