Tenuta Argentiera 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Villa Donoratico$34.99–$173.94
James Suckling 95 Rating
The nose provides a beautiful balance between freshness with crushed violets and lavender and deeper elements of blackcurrants, licorice and elderberries. Tea leaves and charcoal, too. Full body, really refined and structured tannins and a long finish. Drink in 2021.

Tenuta Argentiera 2016 Bolgheri Superiore$73.99–$414.00
Wine Advocate 97 Rating
The 2016 Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, and the Cabernet Sauvignon logically feels and tastes most prominent. This is a dark and penetrating Tuscan red that is beautifully elevated, thanks to the extremely elegant and buoyant quality of the aromas. They lift gracefully from the glass with light-footed, almost fleeting character. However, don't underestimate the power and the concentration of the wine, because this vintage delivers both with abundance. I've had my eye on this estate since the vineyards were first planted some 20 years ago, and there is no doubt that this vintage brings Tenuta Argentiera into a new era as a Bolgheri protagonist.
Must be ordered.

The 2015 Il Fauno di Arcanum is a robust and thickly layered blend of 59% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot. This wine offers terrific value, especially to those who prize soft richness and concentration in their blended Tuscan reds. This beautiful, medium to full-bodied wine would pair seamlessly with grilled or roasted meats. The warmth and sheer exuberance of the vintage will put a big smile on your face.

Tenuta di Capraia 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva$26.99–$287.88
Antonio Galloni 94 Rating
The 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Tenuta di Capraia. Deep and pliant on the palate, with gorgeous supporting structure, the 2013 is wonderfully complete. Black cherry, plum and lavender are some of the many nuances that develop. Above all else, though, the 2013 is impeccably balanced and pedigreed to the core. I loved it. MT

Tenuta di Capraia 2013 Effe 55 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG$37.99–$395.88
Wine Spectator 95 Rating
This red combines pure Sangiovese flavors of cherry and berry with earthy, savory and wild herb notes, making for a complex mix. These elements are matched to a dense, tannic structure that some may find on the dry side, but this will come alive with food. It has a terrific finish—and it's still a youngster. Best from 2020 through 2033. MT

So minerally for a Soave with chalk, stone and steel. Full body, tangy acidity and exotic fruits. Long and delicious. Seems a little off dry. Drink now.

Tenuta Girolamo 2011 Conte Giangirolamo$287.88
Wine Spectator 91 Rating
Hints of eucalyptus, chocolate pudding and spice box accent the crushed boysenberry and baked plum fruit in this full-bodied red. Rich and chewy, subtle midpalate, with a minerally base note that gains momentum on the finish. Primitivo and Negroamaro. Drink now through 2025. Only 2,900 cases made.
