Toil 2021 Pinot Noir
Price range: $59.99 through $660.00Willamette Valley Oregon
Wine Enthusiast 92 Rating
If you are sauvage averse, steer clear, as this excellent wine brings the full George Clinton P-Funk experience. Blackberries, earth, violets and roasted meat set a proper mood for flavors of blueberries, gingerbread and a woody combination of cedar and balsa. Beautifully balanced, with lemony acidity and silky tannins.

From the estate’s Tenuta San Giovanni Vineyard, this is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc aged in oak for 16 months. The Tolaini 2019 Valdisanti is quite generous and rich, with thick layers of dark fruit, black cherry, pencil shaving, tar and licorice. This is a proud and beautiful Tuscan red… Drink: 2022-2030.

The Tolaini 2020 Valdisanti is a 50-50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from a vineyard called Tenuta San Giovanni. This is an especially intense and smooth red blend that shows impressive and seamless integration. You get the dark intensity of both grapes used in the blend framed by the sweet spice and toast of aging in French oak. This vintage carries especially broad shoulders and offers extra richness.

Tolaini 2021 Al Passo Toscana
Price range: $24.99 through $240.00Tuscany Italy
Antonio Galloni 94 Rating
The 2021 Al Passo is a very beautiful and expressive wine. Dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, licorice and incense lend notable aromatic nuance. This Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon blend has a ton to offer. Bright acids pull it all together in style.

Tolaini 2021 Valdisanti Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana
Price range: $39.99 through $360.00Tuscany Italy
James Suckling 95 Rating
Clove, vanilla, restrained cherry, milk chocolate and balsamic aromas. The attack is soft and velvety, with dense tannins, a savory character, a full body and crisp, refreshing acidity. Great mid-palate extraction and details. Embracing finish, long and consistent. Drinkable now, but best from 2031.

Tommasi 2020 Amarone
Price range: $59.99 through $300.00Veneto Italy
James Suckling 93 Rating
Lots of licorice, bark, pine cones and red peppers. Full- bodied and juicy, with a subtle yet firm tannin structure, delineated fruit and a dry, cedary finish that should expand with some time. It would be wise to wait a few years. Drink or hold.

Torbreck 2020 Runrig Shiraz – Viognier
Price range: $179.99 through $900.00Barossa Valley Australia
Wine Enthusiast 96 Rating
Rich, evocative aromas of mulberry, blueberry, coffee bean and hot-cocoa mix lend approachability to what is otherwise a rich, dense wine, packed with flavor, but also with powerful, chalk dust tannins that need serious protein if opening now. Patience will be rewarded, however. Give this a few more years in bottle.

Torre de Ona by La Rioja Alta 2019 Finca Martelo Rioja Reserva
Price range: $49.99 through $258.00Rioja Spain
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
The élevage was in 80% American and 20% French oak barrels and lasted for two years, during which time it was racked four times. 2019 feels like a very complete harvest for Martelo; the wine is very harmonious and balanced, with power and freshness, intensity and persistence. The palate is surprisingly fresh, medium-bodied and fine-boned, clean and elegant.

Torres 2015 Salmos
Price range: $39.99 through $210.00Priorat Spain
Wine Advocate 91 Rating
Along with the 2014, I also tasted the 2015 Salmos, which is from an earlier and riper year. It's a similar blend of Cariñena, Garnacha and Syrah from the same vineyards and produced in a similar way, with fermentation in stainless steel and aged in French barriques for 14 months. The wine showed more finesse and freshness than the 2014, and there is more depth and complexity here too. There are some tannins that would welcome food and/or some more time in bottle. Very tasty. R28-3
