The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée is one of the strongest vintages for this wine in recent history. It is magnificent, soaring from the glass with pungent aromas of crème de cassis, ripe raspberry and strawberry, cured meat, tobacco, licorice, iodine and garrigue. Full-bodied, vibrant to the core and offering a multidimensional profile, this wine is really, really good. The Féraud family and the entire team deserve a round of applause for this sublime Cuvée Réservée, which will still be kicking ass 20 years from now. R45-1 SP37-17 -

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Regusci Vineyard is a powerful, dense wine. Inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, chocolate, spice, licorice and lavender infuse the 2018 with tons of richness. Tasted next to the Cemetery, the Regusci is a bit more overt and opulent in style, with ripeness pushed to the max. The 2018 turns up the dial on everything; fruit intensity, acid and tannin. It is a decidedly flamboyant Cabernet from this historic Stags Leap property. -

As usual with Herman Story wines, there's nothing shy about this blockbuster blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Petit Verdot, 20% Syrah and 3% Malbec from several vineyards across the Central Coast, with 24 months in 84% new French oak. The 93-94 point raves will emerge as folks get to taste this, with big, plush, mouthfeel nicely balanced by the wine's density and chewy, charmingly rustic, finish. A big wine for big meat over the next decade or so. R4-2
